Police have documented a range of alleged hate crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one physical attack, since the election of Barack Obama.

Fear and ignorance. I pity racist.

I pitty racists too. Especially those that voted for Obama solely because he is black.
95% of blacks voted for Obama because he was black.
If 95% of whites voted for McCain because he was white, what would that be called?
I voted against Obama because he had no experience, no record, and no patriotism.
If he had been a qualified, conservative, open record leader, he'd have gotten my vote.
- 24 votes
You know that 95% of Black people voted for Obama simply because he was Black or did your racists beliefs tell you that? You are making a statement that is not backed by facts thus it is considered your opinion and nothing more..... Given that theory then I could say that in all the elections prior to this that White people were racsits because they voted for the White candidates because they were White...stupid reasoning, right? then you got my point!!!

well I guess the base of the Greed Over Patriotism party is rearing it's ugly head
I put some of this blame on McBush and failin Palin for allowing the ignorant ones to yell such threats against Obama. The both of them did nothing but gin up the ignorant ones in their base and obviously that is continues to spew into society
Amazing how Cindy Sheehan gets arrested for wearing a T shirt against the war and these low life people crew to kill him, meaning Obama and nothing happens to them...
as for Abunai claiming you voted for mcbush because of experience... did you give a single thought to the possibly Mcbush would not serve his entire term and then the idiot from Alaska would have been president...
I am sure there were a small amount of white folks who voted for mcbush for real reasons but there were plenty that voted mcbush simply because Obama is black... they still live in the 50's and would love slavery to be back they go around waving their confederate flags and say how patriotic they are... NOT

Abuni: the reason why blacks vote Democrat in high numbers is because of the Southern Strategy that the RNC developed in the 1960s. This strategy essentially stated that if the Republicans could make suburban and rural whites afraid and suspicious of blacks, then they could win elections. So the RNC scape-goated blacks for DECADES and they still do. The only new part in the RNC playbook is that they've added hatred of gays to the mix and started thumping the Bible harder than they used to (not that they ever read anything but Acts and Revelations).
Would YOU vote for a political party that hates you? I didn't think so.

I guess you missed where Howard Stern sent someone out with a camera in Harlem and assigned all of McCain's policy beliefs to Obama and even mentioned Sara Palin as his VP choice and EVERY one said they agreed with his policies on staying in Iraq, pro-choice and Sara as his VP? Have the link if you want to hear the interviews. What do you suppose was their reason for voting for Obama? Because they agreed on his policies?
- 15 votes
rbach,
I actualy voted for the McCain ticket because Sarah Palin was on it. I am no fan of McCain's. He is much too liberal. He did, however have much more experience than Obama and would have made a much better president.
Ditto for Palin. More experience, better person, better president.

I couldn't help but notice the one sided violence being reported by the media. (White on Black violence) There has been reports of "blacks" threatening "whites" because "things will be different for the next four years...." and "...see a white person, slap a white person" has appeared in text on cell phones to white students in a local high school. When the black parent was confronted about her daughters behavior fjor sending the text, she reported replied, "things are gonna' be different for the next four years!" and "get use to it"

Indigo Halo,
The Republican party abolished slavery. The Democrat party supported slavery. The Republican party passed the civil rights act despite Democrat resistance.
The Republicans would prefer that EVERYONE were equal, and pass legislation to make it so. The Democrats ascribe to the belief that minorities don't have the capacity to be equal and therefore require special treatement to level the playing field. This results in a cruel disservice to minorities that have grown to rely on government handouts that will never equal what they could accomplish on their own.

then you need say no more
if you actually believe Palin is qualified for anything then say no more
when she was wrong about the constitution and the VP job and when she was wrong about Africa being a continent and when she claimed she had foreign policy experience because she can see Russia from her state... I sure hop the Greed Over Patriotism party keeps her as the face of their party for they will be out of power for as long as she is their point person... she can gin up the right wing nut base but not the independants let alone any democrat
I would love to see the Greed Over Patriotism party put all their backing behind Palin and Huckabee will be nice to see them crash and burn

Abunai: I agree with you that the Republican Party abolished slavery. Their change in ethos occured in the 1960s. Take a look at the voting history of the South between 1940 and 1980. It went "red" when the Republicans started using fear as a means of getting votes.

I am so saddened by this news, but it is what I expected from people who still live in ignorance. President-Elect Obama is a man, an American, a strong, intelligent leader who tok this nation by strom, overturning once confedserate states to the realism that we need him, we need a man who can lead our country to greatness. the color of his skin matters only to those who refuse to step out of their little holes and become Americans, one for all and all for one. I pray each night that our secret service has this man's back covered, because I know that there exists ignorance in theminds of men and women in this country who refuse to give up antiquated notions that a black is bad. These men/women are what keeps this country down. This elkection was a landslide victory for the American people. We voted tohave the person lead us back into superiority and greatness that America once stood for. If the color of skin matters, then these people need to stay out of the sun, for their tans may give them a new look. Please I ask of you people, stop being racist, for in every skin color exists bad. Most of your serial killers and rapists are white. Does that make the whole white skin color bad? I think not for I am white and I know I am good. You all need to pull together behind this man who is going to return our money to us, our rights to us, our heritage to us, our greatness and freedom. Stop being petty wannabe's. and that prinicopal who told the women that it is just the way it is, she should not be allowed to run a school any longer, for she lowered herself from an academic post by being so blatantly ignorant.

The South voted Democratic until Johnson passed the Civil rights bill in 1965.
An advisor to Johnson told him that if he passed that bill Democrats would lose the South.
And from 1965 to this day the South has voted GOP.

Some of these posts break my heart (I am a 61 year old white woman). I grew up in Ohio, but have traveled extensively all over this country since I was a child, and mosst recently to the deep south for business reasons (my husband's website on contemporary Southern Soul and Rhythm and Blues music). There is racism everywhere, mostly harder to detect since the 50's and 60's when I saw Black Only and White Only signs over drinking fountains, in waiting rooms and sectioned off restaurants. I marchd with Civil Rights marchers as soon as I was old enough and was taught that no one was better than me because race , ethnicity (I have an unusual eastern European last name that some other eastern Europeans would have led to hatred of me and my family in years past, and did when my father was a child) etc. but also that I was no better than anyone else. Why do people hate so? We have a presdent-elect who is half African, half European by heritage who grew up in several places, just as all the military "brats" I grew up with did, living near a large AFB as I did. He is not about to change the American way of life as we all know it. He is part of it. Why on earth would he destroy it, even assuming he could? Fear and ignorance are gifts of the devil. There is a very great difference between disagreeing with someone's political ideas and the kind of hatred that disguises itself as political disagreement. People vote their wallets, amongst other things. I believe that is why so many Blacks voted for Obama, though there are those who voted racially on both sides. The Republicans have done little for minorities, who tend to have lower standards of living than Caucasians. Democrats supported and passed equality and civil rights laws. Remember that Bill Clinton, whatever you thought of him politically, was dubbed euphemistically the first "Black" president. So settle down, folks. Give the guy a chance and surrender your fears until you see clear evidence of reason to fear. I have a stack of books that could well panic an overly unreasoning person into fearing that George Bush and friends were destroying the American way written by award winning political mainstream writers, but I have more faith in us as Americans than to go burning GWB in effigy or running out to load up on guns. I really don't like Bush/Cheney policies, but I never doubted the country would survive them pretty much intact as America (though a little worse for the wear in my view-my opinion, OK?). I was more frightened when the National Guard showed up on my campus with guns and dogs in 1968. So get a grip for Pete's sake!

- 11 votes
You are wrong about 95 percent of whites voting for McCain because he was white. As I recall half of the faces at Obama's rally were white. Also remember that if 95 percent of blacks voted for barak and 95 percent of whites voted for McCain then McCain would have certainly won in a land slide. Obama brought up the race issue to appeal to black voters and it worked. He played ya. He was appealing to the racist blacks which there are many. Listen to the black comedians and singers to the ministers (Wright). Using race to keep blacks from moving up is what the democratic party does. Senator Byrd from West Virginia was in the KKK. I was speaking to a black friend of mine and she told me she was voting for Obama for a change. She mentioned Change which was used so much in his ralllys - meaning to her-change-the power to the black race. You wonder why their is racism? Their are more black racist than white.

I JUST wonder what COLOUR dog the Obama's are gonna get.....what the COLOUR is the animals these people own. UHM!!! It would seem a TRUE racists person would ONLY have a certain coloured animal in which to have....but clearly this is not important, as they wish ONLY to deduce a person's character by the colour of thier skin. UTTER STUPIDITY!!! I am a "white" person, my dog is "black"....I voted for a person for the title of America's President based SOLELY upon the principles that they expressed AND thier record. The canidate that expressed his desire for "CHANGE"....is quickly filling his cabinet appointments with Clinton cronies....this IS NOT CHANGE!!! Perhaps, perhaps....there IS an agenda for a "Change" but if the points of it were fully realized?....I believe it would scare many many American's. Racial discussions and actions would simply go away once the real AGENDA that is about to be unleashed on our country....one world leadership (government), one world banking and finance, one world court. We are about to drive over a cliff and everyone is arguing that the airconditioner isn't working. PURE INSANITY!!! Who cares about white/black....gay rights.....abortion.....when the government has a gun levelled at your head!!!!

My husband insisted that I remove the Obama08 bumper sticker from my car. Now I understand why, at the time being a Caucasian living in a AZ town, I was iincensed. " Isn't this the United States of America", I asked him. Aren't we all Americans? I guess not. President number 43. Was suppose to be a "unit-er not a divider" I believe he was wrong and deceived Americans.
Of course I followed the 2 year election and am very proud and happy that the majority of Americans have elected a intelligent young president. We also have Joe Biden a good man who has worked long and hard for his country in politics. The other choice was an old rich man and a woman who spouted hate in the southern states. Ms. Palin has to have some shame in herself and her "Christianity" she bears a lot of the responsibility for this type of action by ignorant "white trash" What else would you call these people? She was born in Sand Point Idaho. I was born in Idaho also. I did not grow up to become a racist though.Â
Where is homeland security George? Where is the F.B.I. ? Where are our civil liberties? Lost? Maybe they are. Is that what these haters want?Â
Matthew 12:25 "Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and any city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Our country is in horrible financial trouble, as is the whole world for the inane leadership of the 43rd president. His good old boy Texas mentality. He didn't even really win the election. The supreme court had to decide, and God help them their decision was a bad one. Appointing his cronies and uneducated "friends" to high office. Our new President won the election by a landslide. The people have spoken. How many soldiers and service members have died in foreign wars that are ( non white)? How many died in the civil war of our country. The South will never rule this country. The are deluded. Hate poisons the hater. What they teach their children will come back to haunt them.

I do not believe that the violence is wholly because of color. I would tend to think that the white race would have voted for MLK, had he been alive today, only because we knew his background, knew his itinerary, he had nothing to hide. However, with Obama, he has way too many secret holes in his life that are not open and are very suspicious. He stated in a speech that we have 57 states in the United States? the ongoing issue of falsifying his birth certificate and using a sister's birth certificate instead, his two black ministers that practice white bigotry, his Muslim religion, which a Muslim never gives up!, his pal, William Ayers, his "locked" thesis, his father that created so much war and fighting in Kenya, he wants to rewrite OUR Constitution, not in my lifetime. Obama wants to create his own militia called "Civilian Security Force", what the F$%K? He is going to allow all illegal aliens into the country, his aunt was petitioned by the courts to leave America in 2004 for she is an illegal alien, and she never left. Instead she is living in government housing (we the tax payers are paying for her) in MA. The list just goes on and on. Obviously, the people that voted for Obama just simply want change, well, with this type of background they will get change all right! Maybe he and his family ought to head to Kenya if he wants to have such a secretive lifestyle; obviously he does not belong in this country or in our political system. All of the above has absolutely nothing to do with race, it has only to do with way too many unanswered questions and much deceit.

Obama's mother and grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. are white. Guess what? That makes Obama white. I don't understand what all this 'black stuff' is about because Barack Obama is every bit as much and white man as he is black. Frankly I don't even see color when I look at him. He's a white man to me. The lowest common denomonater of our country will continue to take us backwards to the 1800's. Also the media loves to call him a black man. Blame all the unrest on the media. They love the controversy. It's good for their ratings and their bottom line.

I think that we all should take a step back and look at what really happened in the presidential election. Both John McCain and Barack Obama signed a written agreement to only use public funding for the general election. Barack Obama backed out of this written agreement and john McCain kept his word. It should have been that if one candidate failed or refused to honor this written and signed agreement that both candidates could withdraw from the agreement. Barack Obama is reported to have had 605 million dollars and John McCain is reported to have had around 300 million dollars. This is clearly not a fair election when one candidate is free to take money from every legal and some illegal sources and the candidate that complies with the written agreement is limited to the public funding for the General election. Barack Obama was ordered to return some money to individuals and special interest groups who have contributed amounts in excess of the legal limits. To this day there are no reports of any money being returned except that Hillary Clinton did donate some illegal money to a charity, and Barack Obama has yet failed to comply with the laws that require the money to be returned or donated to a charity. Then there are the many thousands of incidents of Voter and Election Fraud that have yet to be prosecuted and many others are not even being investigated. There is one african-american ACORN worker who did in fact admit to registering and voting 73 times. And one Democrat Senator who is being investigated for Electioneering and Fraud in Racine Wisconsin. In Milwaukee County Wisconsin alone there are over 50 cases of Voter Fraud and there are more cases being investigated in Racine County and Dane county and in other counties in this one state. On Election Day there was a video in a news story which clearly showed Vice Presidential Candidate Joe Biden doing what the law describes as Electioneering and this was on NBC and broadcast nationwide. There are many votes that are questionable and there are many cases like this in other states as well that have yet to be investigated. Where is Justice and honesty in the system and in the candidates? The true fact is that there was no Honest Election in 2008.

Dear Patric J
Don't pity my husband. We have a wonderful life together. Over 50 years. He loves me and respects me. I am positive he has never cheated on me. I am positive I have never cheated on him. We are now retired and spending all the time we can together. Also you may want to know that when you become retired and live on a fixed income. You become poor. Now then he is a Native American. So we have a mixed marriage. Go figure. He served his country in the military, and holds a Masters degree in Psychology. He earned it with scholastic scholarships and graduated with a 3.9 grade point average. This was accomplished at a very highly respected Western University. That would be the University of Washington, located in Seattle, Washington. I love and and respect him. We also have 6 wonderful children and 13 grandchildren. Don't feel sorry for us we are at peace and happy.

These racists/haters replicate themselves from generation to generation. They possess a destructive meme that has no bounds and is not going to end anytime soon. If people were all one color racism would end but hate and prejudice would continue. Haters would just find another reason to single out their fellow man and heap violence and hate upon him. Adolph Hitler's hate did not end with the Jewish people, he singled out his own race and put them to death as well. Germans who were homosexual, mentally ill, mentally retarded, or disabled were routinely sent to the concentration camps. They say that God made man in his own image but haters must pray to a different entity.

I too hate racism, however I am tired of hearing only one side of the story, ever since the election I have only heard and seen black people telling white people that "there is a black man in office and you had better know your place because you will be the N---'s now" I am a conservative white woman who was not brought up to judge anyone based on skin color, what they looked like, how much money they made etc. I believe in being fair, but the news media have not been fair in telling all sides of racism on BOTH sides! No, I didn't vote for Obama, because he believes in abortion, believes in same sex marriage, voted not to give medical care to babies who survive abortions, has ties to terrorist, does not have enough experience, wants to lead this country to socialism. I don't care what color he is!

Azwoman regarding your definition of and comments regarding “white trash.” (comments #1.24 & 1.26)
I certainly took notice of your view of your fellow Americans in the South. Not everyone can be so fortunate as to share your beliefs. I would offer that confining the use of "trash" to just those of a particular race; region or social status might be a little short sighted and worse yet, tremendously un-American. It would suggest to me you are an elitist snob and regardless of you or your husband's education, social status, number of children, etc, your views have no place in America. They may be consistent with the liberal left and Obama, who curse any disagreement, but this is still the land of free speech and belief, whether you or I agree with it or not.
To generally label others with such caustic descriptions would be comparable to calling all Indians renegades or all opinionated white girls from Idaho some derogatory name that I won't use. I do not pity “your husband” or you, I pity this country if you have passed your intolerance of your countrymen and their opinions to your “6 wonderful children and 13 grandchildren.” That is a real disaster. Might I suggest that you are the one who is racist and intolerant? This is still America and you guys haven't taken over yet. It may be soon, but not yet.

Most of the people who are who are making racists statements probably consider themselves Christians also. I wish to remind them of the part of the world in which Jesus Christ was born and lived his life. Yes, indeed Jesus was dark eyed and dark skinned. Hate is an all consumming disease. We need to be very careful that we do not plant this hatred in our children. Our children are our only grasp on immortality. We need to teach them mutual respect or some day in the not so distant future we will be facing another Hollicost, and which group will they come after this time. The white man, or the black or the yellow or red. I think that unless we all rethink our hatred and distrust we may all face our own demise. Just remember hate is a four letter word. I also think that anyone who watched T.V. on election night and really paid attention should have noticed there were white faces in the crowd of celebrators then black. I say give the man a chance he certainly can't do any worse then what good old George W. has.

People don't necessarily have to be racist to be frightened. Older people have a tendency to lash out. But I'd like to know where you're seeing these kinds of things because I haven't seen or heard it at all.
Remember, this is a first for a great many of us. And Barack Obama is not a typical American black man. He wasn't raised as an American, his beliefs may very well be marxist and he was associated with domestic terrorists and a minister who spoke opening against America. That's very frightening. And I have not heard the President elect come out and try to assuage the fears of those Americans. He isn't supposed to only the president to black Americans...right?
- 6 votes
FACT: The reason people voted in huge numbers for Barack Obama is the miserable job Bush/Cheney had done the last 8 years. A change had to be made. It wasn't because he was black or because he was the representative to bring the Afro-Americans from the bonds of sufferage. He was representing all Americans who had had enough!!!!
McCain/Palin fanned the flames of hate mongering at every rally. Palin in particular seemed to find joy in all the yelling and hateful statements made by the crowd. It has now been proven that she didn't have a clue how we live in the lower 48, and the nation would be far better off if she went back north and stayed out of the national scene. There's no room for her brand of ignorance.
It was a shame that the media portrayed his victory as they did, with every known and unknown voice of black america on screen telling all the racists just how much they had lost or the blacks had won. Even some who voted for Obama suddenly questioned themselves and if they had acted in the best interest of the nation.
We voted for a smart man who could bring this country out of the mess we're in. We didn't vote black or white. Give him a chance to get into office before downing him.

,
You said, “And Barack Obama is not a typical American black man.”
What do YOU know about the “typical American black man?” Do YOU know EVERY black man in American? NOPE! Therefore, you are showing ignorance in your statement. There are MANY Obama’s in the African American community.
You said, “He wasn't raised as an American…”
He wasn’t? Wow! You have rewritten Obama’s child hood. YOU appear to know more than he and that can’t be right. Of course he was reared as an American. Obama has won! Give it up with the propaganda!
You said, “…his beliefs may very well be Marxist…”
It does not matter what Obama does, it appears to people like YOU, Obama will be anything other than an American.
You said, “…and he was associated with domestic terrorists…”
Sarah Palin’s husband, Todd was a member of the AIP, domestic terrorists, and she this year gave them good cheers. I don’t see YOU crying about that which makes YOU what. Hmm…
You said, “…and a minister who spoke opening against America.”
Please tell me what did Wright say that was wrong? When YOU speak out against the 44th president-elect YOU are speaking against America! Oh, yes you are!
You said, “That's very frightening. And I have not heard the President elect come out and try to assuage the fears of those Americans.”
Did Sarah Palin come out and “try to assuage the fears of those Americans” or did she try to drive fear in America? You people only see things one way, YOUR way which is the wrong way. “
“He isn't supposed to only the president to black Americans...right?”
Who said that he was? That is YOUR fear but not reality! Obama did not have one African American senior advisor on his team. So far, he has not appointed one African American in his cabinet.
This is the type of dialog that keeps American divided probably the way many of YOU prefer it to be.

You know all the racists would rear their ugly heads sooner or later. This is America and they still think it only belongs to them. Ignorance and stupidy will always be part of the American culture. We'll have whites trying to bring up blacks saying things so that what whites say is less meaningful and we'll have blacks that are ignorant saying dumb a$$ things also. Thank God that the majority of the people in this nation aren't ignorant like those! History shows us that at a time the Irish were treated badly, the Italians were treated badly and the Jews were treated badly and weren't considered as white (Italian and Jews) but now they are. How did that happen? Anyway it shows that we aren't where some thought we were when it comes to Americans being Americans in this nation and probably never will. All I know is Jesus hurry up and come back. Some of you won't understand what that means or care because you dont' know Him. Pathetic!

Obama is our president - whether you are black, white or pink. His advisors will be all creeds and colors. Who can blame blacks for voting for Obama, he not only was the best choice, he was the most inspirational and intellectually engaging. Who can blame blacks for flexing their muscles a bit, they have been downtrodden for a long time. But keep it brief, there are more important things to worry about that impact all of us. Like having a job and being able to get medical service and a war overseas. Don't our troops comprise all colors? Do you think they argue about race? We are all Americans - let's pull together and make it a great country again. There will be another election in four years. In the meantime give the democrats a chance to see what they can do. Quit the name calling and grow up with the majority of the country.

That’s right, when YOU cannot add anything constructive to the conversation, do the next best thing and ATTACK! Those are the markings of a racist! Attack what YOU fear!

I think all these "race relation" media articles do more harm than good. Just look at the comments; many people attacking other people's opinions.
To non-Racists: You aren't going to be able to convert a racist via online discussion thread.
To Racists (all colors/ethnicities): No comment
I hope you all well and success in life

You know that 95% of Black people voted for Obama simply because he was Black or did your racists beliefs tell you that? You are making a statement that is not backed by facts thus it is considered your opinion and nothing more.....
Yeah! and 90% of black people voted for clinton simply because he was . . . . black?
IMO, its the true racists that accuse blacks, which usually vote democratic anyway, for not looking at facts of previous elections.

The fact is this article is one sided and does nothing to encourage any message of equity. It is with great frustration, that remarks and action of children of color, in this historic moment are neglected. My children have had numerous remarks made to them in school about the election of Senator Obama. To the consensus of how they (white children) will finally be diminished because we now have a black President. (I hardly think he would approve of this message) It is very sad as these children must be getting very racist messages at home. (Retribution rather than an over due message of being a part of the whole) This need to perpetuate some perceived victimization, among contemporary children, does more damage to repairing the ills of the past than anything adults can say or do.
As an example, One of the children in my son's class has said some very hurtful thinks to him, because he is white and because he was a McCain supporter. I know this child, and have always thought of her highly, very bright, very verbal and very kind. Her remarks to my son were none of those things. It is sad as someone has actually taught this child to be racist and to feel diminished for no other reason than the color of her skin.
The last thing we need to do as a Nation is propel this issue to the top of the agenda. There are many, in our country, for whom this election is a source of healing and a mile stone long in coming. Sadly, many have taken this moment in history out of context and twisted it into some bastardized message of empowerment and retribution.

I see that my first post, in which I made no racist comments, attacked no one, and simply stated documented facts, was "collapsed by the community."
I guess I should feel flattered. You know you are over target when you are recieving flack.
It is to be expected. Nobody hates free speech like a liberal. Watch for similar, government sponsored stifling of conservative speech under Obama.

The reason the article is essentially about Georgia is because of senate race runoff. Since that state is unsettled, the media must keep the racial diviseness pressure on to crank up people who might not otherwise vote. Sheeple, you are apparently still needed there.

Just how many wives do you think Bill Clinton has. One the last time we all looked. Her name is Hillary Clinton. So you can count to 1 right? Seen or heard about any divorces?
If she had divorced Bill, I probably would have voted for her.
O.K. can you spell STUPID?
" I would suspect that you were collapsed because you violated the rules of conduct instead of your point"
George,
What rules of conduct did I violate, other than the unwritten rule on MSNBC not to speak out against the left?
It's tough to teach old dogs new tricks, but I would hope you would expand your horizons, look for alternate sources of information, and determine for youself which course is better for our country.
My opinion is that our unpopularity in the world is a badge that we should wear proudly. Being hated by terrorists, thugs, socialists, and communists is not a bad thing.

Fear of a dark-skinned President with a foreign-sounding name is a predictable outcome of the hate-mongering that was perpetuated by McCain, Palin, and the RNC in their speeches, ads, mailers, and robocalls. Skinheads, Aryan Brotherhood, KKK, John Birch Society and the like regard themselves as the GOP's "peeps".
McCain and Palin behaved like juvenile delinquents playing with matches and negligently starting a wildfire, and then disavowing any responsibility for the resulting property damage.
- 30 votes
When McCain made the statement "I'm proud of the people that come to our rallies" I was stunned.
That would have been a perfect time for him to disavow racism, but he didn't want to loose a vote.

McCain defended Obama plenty of times, but Obama did not do the same for McCain. So why don't you stop blaming McCain for every little thing you think he should have done in the compaign and assign some responsibility to Obama. Since when is McCain responsible for racism in this country?
- 13 votes
mcbush and palin definitely encouraged the hatred during their rallies
It wasn't until the media put a light on it that mcbush did a little to show he was against it... too bad he was not being sincere and for Palin she never once spoke out against the hatred and any of her rallies... she one of those good pentacostal "christians"
- 21 votes
I'm stunned that people allow a media generated controversy to shape their view of a Presidential candidate.
Why punish John McCain for choosing to acknowledge the vast majority of his supporters, and not the handful of people who shouted out the idiotic stuff? Because those shouts made the news, instead of his speeches? Gee, why would the media do that?
- 6 votes
That's right. It was the racists in the crowds that made the news for weeks. No one reported on McCain's message. All of the cameras were focused on the crowds looking for racists.

scifiguy- see if you can get it straight. obama started the fire! palen and mc cain are innocent by standers. innocent by standers...sound familiar? obamas lies don't make your world true.
get with it: obama divided the nation by asking blacks to vote for him, because he's black, to put a black in the whitehouse to work for the blacks. now obama is the #1 racist! he should get his speech writers he relies on because he can't follow a thought, to help him get up and lead, by first apologising for dividing our nation based on lies.

Scienceguy356641- You are right on the money! I had changed my decision not to vote for McCain/Palin. There campaign was akin to - 1960's in the Deep South. I am Black and a Republican, from the South (Virginia), and believe me, to look at what was taking place during the last couple of months, brought back BAD MEMORIES. I live in So. CA. where the new issue is that BLACKS WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PASSAGE OF PROP 8. Give me a break. This sounds like the Civil War all over again, only it is now 2008. No doubt, some FAR RIGHT COWARD FESTERED THIS ONE UP. The other party was no better, but did not come off as the 'GREATER OF TWO EVILS.'Before we begin to judge President-Elect Obama, can we at least let him SIT AT THE DESK FIRST!

You are exactly correct in what you said. Anyone who disputes what you stated is not being honest. I truly was horrified when I saw Palin's rallies. For John McCain to be offended by what John Lewis said was hypocritical - these events prove Lewis was right. I fear for Obama.
At Ms Palin's gatherings there seemed to be more hatred shown. I believe she was ranting on about Mr Bill Ayers and now we find that they were all lies. One can see what type of people would support such a candidate.

Do they care that their stupidity reflects on all intelligent citizens of the USA? They are misfits that are frightened that a black man is the highest elected official in America, so they spout and spew this vomit at whoever will listen. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

I have seen and heard people from all races teach their kids to hate or fear the others and its sad. Will Obama do a good job? I don't know and neither does anyone else. Were there things of contraversy in his campain yes but there was some in the other group as well. Agreed why leave congress in office if you truly wanted to make a change in the country. I pray mr Obama decides he likes this country enough to support its flag and national anthem as a former Marine I was very upset by this disreguard to those of us who put it all on the line for him to be able to live his life and become our president. I don't believe he deserves to be in the office if he can't support what it stands for. And before some of you decide to bash me and call me racist because I was offended by this decision of mr Obama I am not. I don't agree with all abortion or same sex mariage and so forth. I will be behind him but not on those issues. P.U.S.H. PRAY UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS.

i remember a white farmer in 1989 who daughter dated a black man. He told the boys father that if they caught them together they would kill him. The daughter was angry because the young man wanted to call it off, i was in my grandmother's house sleep when i heard a lot of sirens, me and my father went down the road to see what happened it was feb. We watched them pull the car out of the creek. In the road was a cross burning. The young man wa shot in the head and hands were tied to the steering wheel, she was in the passenger side dead. There was two sets of tracks one where the car was braking, the other pushing, the car trunk was pushed in. car was pushed into the creek. 2 weeks later the father shot two of the five clan members burning a cross in his yard. He was sent to prison for two years but finally released. so joe i will answer your question, my facts are from what i have seen growing up in mississippi, there are really a lot of people who are afraid of blacks simply because someone said to be. Remember, a black person couldn't fly any aircraft in the military during ww2 because we were not as smart as whites. like said in my history book from jessie owens to tiger woods we have proven that we can over come and was equal in atheletics to whites. I remember reading an article in 1979 sports, why a black man could not be a QB in america, it was said that we couldn't lead like whites. well now we can defy the racist, and truly be whatever we want in this country including president . I think that is what scares some whites more. This country was found by whites more less taken from the indians, and in the south built on slavery...... slaves invented and was not given credit. it was a black slave who invented the cotton gin, eli whitney took the credit. what are you really afraid of, we would never do the injust things that have been done to us.......... you can count on it.

North Mississippi, sad story but if true why only two years for attempted murder of at least two people? I could see the head lines now had it been the other way around! These are the things that keep racial tensions going in this country. Yes whites and blacks alike saying or doing something to needle the others just enough. It doesn't help when you have these groups such as the kkk or arian nation or jessie jackson or al sharpton to keep the hatred moving. Everyone in this country has the same rights but some are told they can't exercise theirs because it may offend someone else. It is time to do away with all the hate groups kill them if we must make everyone stay in school and get their education or atleast keep them from getting any free money from the government if they haven't completed school and been trying to work honestly no matter if they are white black red yellow blue or green. Do away with anything that attempts to keep the hatred stirring. Most of America are togather on most of the issues but for some reason the media and most leading figures want to focus on the few that don't comply. The more attention we give them the more hatred we stir. When we all learn to stop giving them the media attention they crave the better things will become. This is 2008 and things are far better for all races than ever before.
This type of stuff is exactly why the talking heads like Rush Limbaugh and some others should be FIRED. They fueled the flames more than any others. At least strip them of the titles of 'conservative'. They are so radical it isn't funny anymore.
Whoever said something on the air about 'gangs roaming the highways stopping cars, beating and robbing people' should be first to go. The elderly heard this from others in church or wherever and thought it was true. They were scared.
Scary, the same things Jim Jones said to his followers are the same things Palin and McCain were saying to their 'base' of right-wing radicals.
Now, the Gay community should not be allowed unions called Marriage. (period)
BTW, the worst things said about Palin were said by members of the Republican Party, not the Democrats. So, blame your own people.
Children today have no respect for others...gee wonder why with their parents listening to Rush in the car etc.

We elect leaders to govern. They are supposed to provide for their constitutes.
- 5 votes
What do you mean when you say "they are supposed to provide for their constituents"?
I think you're misinterpreting.
States that trend Republican aren't "poor" states, they are states without dense population centers, and thus with less of a need for big government.
They're largely rural, and depend more on local economy than gloabal economy, and they don't want someone from outside telling them how to run their lives. In this case, they don't want government to provide for them - THEY provide for THEMSELVES. They want government to leave them the hell alone.

The people are poorer. They have less income. They make less money.
They live below the poverty level. They are less educated. They pay tax on their food.
It's shocking to see the poverty in the South. Those people are poor.
With rising food and utility costs who do you think it hurt the most? People making $50,000 a year or people making $15,000 a year??
Teachers in the poor states make $25,000 a year. My kid makes $35,000 and she hasn't finished her degree.

There are programs to train these people to go to work, learn trades and even go to college on us THE LEGAL AMERICAN TAXPAYER, but no these people would rather keep generatopn after generation on welfare..GO FIGURE
- 4 votes
The amount of welfare that a family gets varies from state to state. A person getting welfare in Utah makes more money that a person working a full time job in the South.
My point is that social programs, assistance for poor and middle class, and tax cuts for people making under $250,000 a year will benefit 99% of the population of the Southern and Mid-West states, yet they consistently vote GOP.
I heard one politician comment about his constitutents at a McCain rally being against Obama's tax policy because "they didn't want their taxes raised".
The Politician's reply was: "Hell, there ain't three people in the State that make over $40,000 a year".
- 7 votes
Lu, your argument about southern states being primarily poor and uneducated doesn't hold water. Our combined household income, in Houston, is just under $75,000. I have a two year degree in electronics and my wife has some college but no degee. We have one child and own our home. We are both between 25 and 40 years old. By all accounts we are the average family in our county.
We are having no problem making it because we do not pay a state income tax and we live within our means. Housing costs are cheaper here than they are in the Northeast as are gas prices. We buy local groceries and produce as much as possible. In my chosen profession, a field service technician, if were to move to either New York or California we would be at or below the poverty line because this job pays less in those areas. The same goes for my wife who is a receptionist.
My point is that generalizitions without facts are as biased as racism. Do your homework before making assertions or you are no better than the KKK or Black Panthers.

Lu, one of the writers for the major News outlet in Kentucky made the same observations. The poorest and least educated are the registered Republicans in our state and in most of the REDDEST southern states. It's embarrassing that these are the very people would improve their lot in this life by listening and learning about people who are different from them. They are frightened by this Democracy and it's foundations of equality.... and government "by the people and for the people". Very, very pitiful.

for a couple of comments I read: no the economy ISN'T the only factor in an election, but it's kind of stupid as heck to keep voting for the party that has run D.C. for the last 8 years and the last 2 of the Clinton years when we see the CLIFF that came up from under us so fast.
To Chris who insists that the rural states want big government OUT of their lives, well, as a REPUBLICAN (not a neo con) I do TOO, but the REPUBLCAN PARTY JUST BLEW IT IN THE BIGGEST WAY EVER. We have MORE gov't: Homeland Security; we have LESS rights: eminent domain precedent changes, Patriot Act, phone wiring, arrests for legal protesting; we have the BIGGEST DEBT ever, rather than less debt; we have 2 wars that weren't as a direct result of attack on our soil (IRAQ IS NOT AL QUAIDA); we have the LEAST fiscally conservative government in the HISTORY of the United States; and we are MORE socialist than ever: Wall Street Bailout. We also have a president who has COMPLETELY reinterpreted the Constitution and has written EXTENSIVE executive orders that are BEYOND the scope defined by the Constitution and a Vice President who is attempting to change the definition of his position.
I voted Obama cuz someone has to put the restraint on this mess. MY PARTY is not solely comprised of extreme religious nuts who claim that GOD decides the president must be white. Who claim that blacks are racist cuz they voted democrat AGAIN, but the fact that an ENORMOUS majority of the voters who voted for McCain were WHITE doesn't show racism. And racism is VOTING AGAINST SOMEONE because of their color, not voting FOR someone. I didn't hear blacks say they were voting AGAINST McCain because he was white.
I think the Republican party was HIJACKED and I'm not going to stand by quietly and allow people who think it's okay to yell "terrorist" and "kill him" and "traitor" to make my decisions for me, as if ANYONE who disagrees with them is not American.
Not only that, my first thought after the McCain debacle, was that of SHAME for my party when they started to snipe Palin as if the whole thing was HER fault. So now we have Republicans PROVING once again that they don't like women in power. (as McCain kept stating REPEATEDLY throughout his campaign.) But HE was never called into question as to HIS discrimination against women! (completely disrespected his wife at a BIKER rally, wanted her to have the title of Buffalo Crap, and he sniggered about his mistaken belief that women don't get insurance coverage for the pill while men can get Viagra via insurance, said to beat Hillary with a stick, voted AGAINST the raising of minimum wage which affects MOST single moms and those poorest children of the nation who AREN'T insured, while voting to give a tax cut NOT to EVERYONE, but solely to those who are the creme de la creme and lo and behold HE fit into THAT TAX BRACKET and got his OWN BREAK. Wow. Republicans think NO one should pay taxes. Not just the rich.
THAT'S what makes me wonder about the bassackwards logic of the NEO CONS. For they are NOT republican. AT ALL. It's a new party. Not the party of less government, less spending, more isolationism, and more individual rights. Bush and Cheney blew that out of the water.
I'm also tired of how angry everyone is, and we're ALL angry with Bush and Congress, yet so MANY want to blame this on a man who ISN"T EVEN PRESIDENT YET.
FEAR???? You're AFRAID of him (Obama)? WHY THE HELL AREN'T YOU OUT THERE PROTESTING BUSH!?!?! HE'S the one who made our country so weak that if we DID face an attack on our soil, there's NOTHING WE COULD DO!!! Our national guard is extremely weakened/tired and in IRAQ of all places! WHILE MEXICAN POLICE and MILITARY ATTACKS OUR BORDER PATROL, and where is Homeland Security for THAT Georgie boy?!?!?

Lu, your argument about southern states being primarily poor and uneducated doesn't hold water
According to every statistics out there, southern states typically make much less than northern states. States with growing population and increase in income, education, and diversity start to trend democratic. Thats what happened to virgina, and that is what they are predicting will happen in texas within the next decade.
Lets see, thats why in my field, when I moved from Georgia to New York I made less money. Came back to Georgia because I made nearly 5000.00 more per year. Same goes for a co-worker, he moved from Georgia to Ohio and made less money. He moved back because he couldnt afford to live in the hell hole you call ohio. Visit Southeast Georgia and South Carolina. There is more wealth in these areas than up North by far. You Damn Yankees are so ignorant yourselves that your too blind to see.

He moved back because he couldnt afford to live in the hell hole you call ohio. Visit Southeast Georgia and South Carolina\
lmao!
Heaven forbid I take statistics over your unverifiable personal testimony
Of course there will be some cases where people make more in the south and some cases where people make less in the north. duh!
However the average of poeple with more education and higher incomes is higher in the north. It has been that way since before the civil war and it won't change now.
Don't get mad at Ohio, just because you didnt have what it took to make it in New York ;P
Well where I live a 6 year old boy that said his parents had voted for Mc Cain was beaten by 5 or 6 African Americans 6 year olds....but guess what the parents didn't press charges ...why because I guess they thought the parents would go after them since their children(6 year olds) went after their son because he said they voted for Mc Cain ....
Then, here's another one for you a group of workers were discussing about how the media was so one sided on the issues and One African American woman told a group of white women to suck it up and get over it because now it's your turn to see what we went through.... If anyone would have said that to her she would have ran to file a complaint and said they were being racist making those remarks.....
Also, at an area High School the day after the election there was a teacher that had trouble controlling the class because they wanted to discuss the election and politcs ( she tried explaining you can't do that at school and the first thing to come out of their mouths was it's because he's a black president and you are prejudice(wonder where they learned that from )) when she called for back up from the front office 2 female administrators came ( one white and one black) when the teacher explained what was going on the black administrator says fist up "Power to the People" ..the other 2 women mouths dropped .. Now if that would have been said by anyone else they would have lost their jobs for such a comment
I don't think any of us had nothing to do with what happened decades ago.... I don't get it it's ok for African Americans to play the race card no matter what is said ...during the elections it was A L W A Y S Obama bringing up the race card always... McCain always defended Obama which to me was a mistake on his part... by the way I am a Democrat if you thought I was a republican ....
You are in control of your own destiny but people have become so accustomed to blaming others for their own mistakes and wrong doings ...this is what America has turned into a country that blames others and passes the buck

hold up! you think they should have pressed charges agaisnt 6 year olds? *thinks back to all the fights I had as a child* Heaven help us when we start throwing babies in jail for fighting. My question is where was the teachers that allowed a group of kids to gang up on another kid.
Now racism on ANY side is wrong but the isolated incidents on both sides of the field are anything but the norm. We must condemn any racial actions taken against any group, but we can't be naive and let a few bad apples spoil the bunch.
BTW, I also need some evidence of when Obama brought up the race card.
the only race cards I seen played wasn't against blacks, it was against Muslims and Arabs and it was by the McCain campaign.

Echoe- You make an important point that others would do well to think about. Most blogs here are definitely displaying a lot of emotion here about bias of others without thinking about some of the bias their statements present. Such as its all those republicans fault as if all republicans or whatever side they are taking represents the views of all people within the group. Then they wonder where bias comes from. Unfortunately bias at different levels is an age old problem in all corners of the world. Best remedy to try to move away from it is education and reading more about other cultures. Spend some time reading news from other countries and reflect upon what you read. Its a long road that we are all on.

I live in New York and I can not take the selfish Liberals who will not give the people they profess to love the time of day, and the high taxes.
New York is finished. Our one industry, WALL STREET, can no longer support the Education, Medicaid, and Welfare state. WALL STREET IS NOT COMING BACK! There is no other industry to pay for the socialism. They all went South!
The North is finished.

What the hell Azwoman? I realize the article is about racism, but Patrick was not being racist, or even TALKING about race. I thought you were in your 60's... shouldn't you be more mature than that? And also, as a white person, I found your statement to be a little bit racist. Racism against whites is no better or worse than racism against any other "color."
- 4 votes
I live in the South. I believe that there is both latent and overt racism and there is poverty in this part of the country. However, I have lived and worked in other parts of our country and I believe those same traits are just as prevalent elsewhere in this great land and I believe that there are poor people spread across our nation.
I also believe that we live in a country where the opportunity exists to rise above poverty and to grow out of racist beliefs. Many of our poorest citizens enjoy a far better standard of living than some rich people in other countries.
The one thing that seems to me to be more abundant in the South is the desire for the local, state and federal governments to stay out of the way and keep its hands out of our pockets. I am not saying that those feelings do not exist in other parts of the country: rather, I think they are more dominant in the South.
As far as President Elect Obama is concerned, whether we agree with him or not, he ran a masterful campaign and got elected. He delivered a message that a plurality of voters must have liked or else they would not have voted for him. Soon he will be called upon to stand and deliver more than a message.
He will face many difficult situations and I hope God gives him the wisdom, courage and strength to make the best decisions on our behalf, whatever color he happens to be. Like it or not, he will be everyone's President. At least, give him a chance.

Move on, and GET OVER IT
People don't realize how much harm they are doing their children when they teach them racism.
Or they do realize it and they don't care.
Look at the dump little girl that carved the B into her cheek and made up the "big black man attacked me" story. I'm sure she was born perfectly normal and healthy but was fed so much mis-information as a child that she's mentally scarred for life.
- 11 votes
LU, the word is dumb, not dump! The woman is "mentally ill" and has a history of it. It had nothing to do with being fed information.
Also: candidates "lose" and election, not "loose". Loose is the opposite of tight.

obama can't form a thought on his own, he relies on his speech writers to figure out what is the prettiest sounding words for here, then switch sides and say the opposite, there. you've been fed by the idiot who has been relying on being fed.

Well, I guess the very articulate Sarah Palin makes you VERY happy. It is foolishness to believe a man who has the education and training of this man is not intelligent. That argument is so out of the park that vhuskey should just let it go. This is stupidity. I have no doubt that everybody is not fit for college but the idea that people who spend their post-highschool years bettering themselves should be looked down upon is as I said before foolishness. Let it go and get something else to be made with him about.

Remember that white men kidnapped and dragged Africans to the American South in chains. And now, some American people are angry that there are black people here. Hmmmm. . . .

Excuse me Jenny. I thought candidates lose an election rather than "lose and election."
See, it can happen to perfect people like you as well.
Electing Obama as president has nothing to do with his color. Will the media create this false hatred of Obama to control opposing thought. Is this how they will control the opposition by calling the person racist? White guilt? Create stories about racism so that there will be no scrutiny of his policies. The media is in love with Obama.
- 5 votes
Excuse me but it would seem to me that there is just as much racism coming from the other direction. I know black people who won't even look at a white person. What is that all about?

I read a lot of posts from Leftist who keep talking about hate from the right. But it sure seems to me that the Leftists are the ones that hate the Right. If fact I think the Leftist hate conservatives more than they do Al-Qaeda. But then they both have the same goals don't they? They both want to radically change this country and have no tolerance for anyone who disagrees with them.

Thank you Trisha, you were the first person that posted to figure it out.

I'm a black man in oklahoma and i have NEVER in my life encountered a black person who wouldn't look at a white person.
I am a southern republican woman. I am deeply saddened by the behavior of some of my fellow americans. I did not vote for president elect Obama, however, as an American , I plan to support my new president.Race should not be an issue. This is 2008 !!!!! All Americans need to join together and support each other to ensure our country moves in a positive direction.

I am with you, we need to stand behind our leader and make this country strong once again. I congratulate you on your bold statement.

so you plan to support the guy who is responsible for making race an issue? obama is the one who asked blacks to vote for him because he's black and will make the whitehouse work for them, the blacks! and then he lies by calling mc cain a racist! instead of thanking mc cain for his service! to support obama, maybe you should write to him and ask him to apologise to the american people for racially dividing the nation!
- 6 votes
When did Obama ask a certain racial group to vote for him? I never heard that. I actually don't recall him mentioning race at all. And Obama has thanked McCain and praised him for his service in interviews and at the debates and I believe even in his acceptance speech. Obama did not racially divide this nation. To the contrary, he is trying to get people to see beyond race and focus on what we all have in common. Palin owes this nation an apology - she was the most blatant Republican trying to divide us. McCain didn't do it himself, but allowed her to do it. Wouldn't it be ironic if when Obama and McCain meet on Monday, that McCain gets offered a position in the new administration? What would you say then? I think it speaks volumes to Obama's character that he is reaching out to his opponents. We all need to get along and move forward to the future.

I will oppose this man from the start. I do not want my country to move to socialism just to get a free Doctor's visit.
I am against raising the income and capital gains tax.
He will destroy the victory in IRAQ.I am against the return of Union thuggery.
I remember the racial coalitions that terrorized construction sites, tolerated by Liberals. I remember forced busing while Ted Kennedy's children went to public school. I remember the Weathermen.
I remember Liberals not helping me as a Parent by saying "Just turn the dial if you don't like it". Telling me that I am just too stupid to understand "art".
Reminders that our Military people are dumb.
The constant use of the word "intelligence" to put people down to win arguments.
Liberals giving a minor the right to an Abortion without parental notification.

Lectures about 78 degree air-conditioning settings, BTU taxes, spotted owls, ending 401Ks. etc.

There is no "victory" in Iraq- only a cease fire.
How 'victorious' would things be if the Mahdi Army decided to end that cease fire and fill the country full of roadside bombs and mortar attacks again?
They almost ended it once already because we didn't want to make plans to leave.
Mahdi who is in Iran being led by the nose like a pig by Iran's leaders. He is an elected official in the Iraq government yet he hides like a coward in Iran.. I think the Iraqi people now know that the US is really trying to make things better and they see the Taliban and Alkaida as the ones who kill them on a daily basis and blow up women and children.

As will most all americans. We may not agree with him and I no matter what, will voice my opinion. I, myself will not be held hostage by the far left. I certainly would not want anything bad to happen to Obama or his family. I don't think anyone, whatever their views, should be silenced, or made to feel guilty, for their opinions and beliefs. And certainly the "say you're sorry, appologize" crap has gone way to far. Say what you mean and don't apologize for it!!!!!

Dude, oppose them when they are being implemented.
Obama goes into office in Jan. 09! There is a lot of talk, but for now, that's all it is...

It's too bad the story is one sided and doesn't report on the cases of racism by the black community since Nov. 4th. There have been thousands of reports on various message boards of how come Jna. 20th it will all change and "whitey" will bow to the superior black man. My wife is a supervisor at a company, she's been told by her several of her black employees that she will answer to them on Jan. 20th.

Striker, you are absolutely correct. It hurts the arguement that blacks are always the vicitims if both sides are printed.

When I came to work the next day, so excited to discuss this Nation 44th President Barack Hussein Obama. I received a rude awakening. My Caucasian co-workers had their heads hung low and they were not talking to the African American co-workers. I dialed my friend on the other side of the room and asked her did she noticed people were acting strange. She said yes and I told her I thought it was just me, and she said you can tell who they voted for and they are pissed. My thing is this, we have voted for 43th Caucasian President's and Caucasian have voted for them as well, so now why is it a problem when African Americans voted for Obama, because he is qualified and well beyond his years of someone who was destined to be a Leader and he has accomplished his dream. My favorite slogan of his speech is this: This is not a Blue America or a Red America, this is the United States of America. We are one Nation and we must rise above the hate, because he is your President too!Â

Lovely sentiment-----unfortunately not true though. Where do you think that the money for more welfare programs is going to come from? It won't be only the rich paying for it--it never is. All those people who classify all whites as racists when they question why there are so many opportunities for minorities keep any real change from happening. By the way, has any one ever questioned the black racist myth that all whites are rich ? Many of us live in urban ghettoes because we haven't the money to leave----we don't want to live here, it's a matter of age or economics. Has any black ever asked why there are no special programs for poor white children, or scholarships especially geared for them? It might be nice to look at the realities sometime, not the presumptions or the minority myths.

Do you mean the corporate welfare--I don't know how much of my tax money will be taken to bail them out--and already they had all the tax breaks and loopholes. And laughed at the middle class, especially at their stupidity and gullibility, making it so easy to get them to look down instead of up for welfare rip offs.
Lucy, all the money needed can be taken from the corporate welfare plans and diverted to education, health care and making sure no American goes to bed hungry at night. Tonite, in America, as McCain goes to bed in one of his 7 or 8 houses, many people from Kansas, Virginia, Ca. NY SC etc. et al. are going to bed in their car , or at a shelter, or a friends house...and their kids are going to bed hungry... if only that changes under Obama, that will be sufficient for me...

Striker, if you wife is a supervisor, then how can that be? Someone is full of it.

I never heard him say that he was going to take over the country for the black people. And if the black people believe that, they have a long way to go to understand out constitution. A black President can be impeached just as well as a white one.
- 1 vote
haven't heard of any crosses being burned on the property of whites by BLACKS, nor have I heard of any "kill the whitey" slogans being chanted on School buses, or scrawled on graffitti walls, (unless you're deep in gang territory and they're bent on killing EVERYONE, not just whites) nor have I seen nooses hung in the trees of white people's front lawns, are you getting the gist here? You can't treat someone like CRAP for years and years and expect them NOT to react, so I'd suggest if your wife DID hear black people say that to her, she'd have to ask herself what brought it on. Not only was I a supervisor of a MULTITUDE of different people; handicapped, different ethnicities, LEGALLY from other countries, as well as a variety of races, I had NO problem with any of my employees, and often had celebrations with them outside of work. I was the ONLY supervisor to receive a going away party from the employees, and NONE of them ever felt belittled by me, or that they were being trampled on by the boss. I encouraged ALL of them to strive to do better for themselves and they succeeded by bringing in AWESOME numbers for the company. MANY of my employees got higher positions and raises for their work. But hey, that's just me, I didn't look down my nose and tell them they wouldn't succeed because of their color, or dffierences. The company did FAR better with me encouraging personal betterment than by the other supervisor who put anyone down who was different.
And that's how the country will do too, You can all either put up, or shut up. If you're not going to participate in BETTERING your country, then go away and you can't complain about ANYTHING. If you insist on making yourself fail JUST so you can say, It's Obama's fault, then you're worse than anyone. Either get out there and MAKE SURE that YOUR end of town stays out of the fray and does things that HELP the town rather than HINDER the town, or go to your bunker (preferably for the next 50 years) and don't come out until the world has changed yet again, and you along with McCain will learn new technology. If you're lucky, you'll learn it from someone who has COMPASSION for the minority. Cuz yeah, caucasians are slowly becomng the minority.
I'm kind of thinking it's about REALLY stupid to egg on racism when you're becoming the minority in the U.S. DUH.
(oh, I'm "white" by the way, but I've lived in enough other countries to understand what being the minority is. and yes, I'm AMERICAN BORN AND RAISED and living in another country DID NOT make me any LESS American, but it gave me an EXCELLENT education in foreign affairs.)

You're kidding right? That is laughable. I am a terrorist because I point out thruths that you are not willing to admit because you are closed minded? And you are a racist. So be sure to turn yourself in, too.
- 5 votes
Does it make you sound like a gestpo authority figure suggesting that Homeland Security and the FBI should be involved. I am sure they do not need help from the likes of you gestapo wanabees to do their jobs. Quick go get your application so you can sign up for Obamas National Security Force. Racism is wrong, but what you are suggesting is ridiculous.
- 2 votes
Maybe what he is saying is that these blogs are monitored and anything that is threatening is turned over for information. In other words, it pays to watch your mouth.
- 3 votes
Thanks to the Bush administration it is now legal for the FBI and Homeland Security to monitor telephones and e-mails...and you have to admit it makes their job a lot easier.
There is no excuse for racism in this country. And teaching it to a kid is child abuse.
Not only should they be rounded up, tried, and imprisoned but they should be castrated so that they to not reproduce their ignorance.
Would that be enough of a deterrent for you? If you're caught burning a cross on someone's lawn or teaching racism to a child they cut your n@ts off?
Do you think that would do it for you?? Because we know that being viewed as a sick freak isn't enough of a deterrent; maybe removing your "best friend" would make you rethink your position.
- 5 votes
I wish that it could be seen as child abuse. Maybe it would help stop some of it.

Because I do not support your tactics does not mean I do not agree with your message that racism is evil. When you talk of 'removing' people' as deterents I can only go back to my gestapo analogy.

Not sure if I agree with the method. However, I suppose if we started with Farrakhan, Wright, the Grand Wizard and the Head Neo Nazi guy first it might demonstrate some seriousness. We could work our way down the ranks until we finish, then we could start on everyone else that disagrees with you (or the government in power or the cause du jour.) Unfortunately, I think the effort would not be applied equally and we would see a one sided effort used as a sword rather than a shield.
- 1 vote
Hey jmmmm, you're talking about BUSH tactics. It's not someone HERE who wants it, they're just noting that the FBI and Homeland security WILL have that name on a list because of what was said. The PRESIDENT is the gestapo you're talking about now.

If you are so worried that Bush is putting names on the Homeland Security Security list why do you continue to post. If Lu had her way, it would be appropriate that you and yours will be castrated and removed from society as a deterrent to your anti-Bush message. Oh ya, this applies to only the people Lu disagrees with. Your hatred of this President is your prerogative and the fact that you live in a country that allows you this freedom should be at least one thing you are grateful for under this current President. And apparently hate speech is a one way street in your viewpoint. The comments made by Lu are among the most hateful posted on this board.

I AM on one of the potential terrorists lists(albeit quite low on the totem pole.) Because I had to take a college course on Mideast studies and read Al Jazeera every day, also because I call overseas quite often, as I have family in other countries. But so are MILLIONS of people on that list, which is why it's the most ridiculous list there is. And NO I'm not afraid of being on that list, nor did I say I was. LU was commenting on a post that was DELETED and rightfully so, because it was extremely dangerous and THAT would trigger an alert and a posting as possible terrorist on the goverment list.
Echoe, I am probably not the first to mention to you, and your cohorts, are delusional. I think you attach far more value and importance to your thoughts and actions than others do, particularly the resources of the Federal Agencies. Despite what you and you pals think, those agencies deal with reality and important things, not everyday nuisances such as yourself. That is, unless you are engaged in something that has already, potentially is or could be related to a serious violation of a section of Title 18. Right now, I have seen nothing that would rise to a standard even close to the standard on the level of a village ordinance on nose picking. Sorry no list for you.

The first time someone said to me that "by 2050 white people would be a minority in America" it was 1990.
My response was: "why would white people be a majority?"
- 2 votes
Hey... I won't be alive for it, but I know someday it'll happen. What I think will be great is when there has been so much intermarriage that there aren't specific "races" of people, but rather a smooth gradation in complextion. After all, that's essentially what "race" is: just a difference in complexion and how our eyes and noses are shaped. Big whup!
I wish the race haters (and that's all racists of all types) would figure out that we're a better society when united than when divided.

Indigo, unfortunately, it doesn't matter who, or what, or where, SOMEONE always has to figure out a way to determine how THEY are better than the OTHER group. In Puerto Rico, it's straight hair vs. curly, in Morocco it's the east side vs. the west side, in Germany, they hate the Turks, in France it's the Algerians, so on and so forth. What's HILARIOUS to me, is that in my travles, I've heard NUMEROUS people remark on the travesty of American racism towards blacks, yet they don't consider themselves racist when they discriminate against a whole group of people. It wouldn't stop even if everyone looked EXACTLY alike, cuz then it'd be by the house you own, or your job, maybe your financial status, maybe even the CAT or DOG you pick. There's ALWAYS going to be discrimination, because there will ALWAYS be someone insecure enough that they have to find a reason and a way, to be "better" than everyone else.
This is why the world thinks the USA is a joke! Too many ignorant rasict @!$%#s!!!

To you folks above,
My response is who gives a crap what Europeans or others think. You obviously don’t respect anything that your countrymen think. This is America and it really only matters to us what we think.
I think your opinions of your fellow Americans and their opinions are detestable. Regardless of what you think or believe this is every American's country, and dislike or not, they are entitled to their views. You folks, for some reason, seem to think that everyone who does not have the same opinion as you, on any matter, is a racist, stupid, ill educated, a red neck, trailer trash and a host of other descriptions. I feel it is you who, although maybe not as overtly racist (white trash, red neck, etc), are as bigoted and biased as any of those you condemn.
To that I would add there is the addition of an obnoxious attitude that smacks of complete elitism and arrogance. This should fit in well with the new administration. I’m sure you will have us all turned into the kind of Americans and the type of people you think, “we must become.”

Sorry, but this attitude is simply ignoring the reality of the world we live in today. Countries economies, security, trade, banking, etc are all tied together. It matters what the world thinks because we are a part of the world, not some isolated island and certainly not as dominant as some would like to think we are. We can't lead if nobody is following.

Do you really think that the queen of england could turn black? this fool is a prime example of how someone can try to put words into your blog, and act sane at the same time. do you think that the emperor of Japan will change colors? and the chinese ? As long as there are people like salsaJoe, there will be racists. You can't vote for a new king. That is the difference between a monarchy and a democracy. The Saddam Hussein thing was a tyranny. (are you learning anything yet?)
- 2 votes
I really hate to tell you , but in Britain the Queen is not the ruler, Gordon Brown, the Prime Minister is. The Emperor of Japan is not the leader, Junichiro Koizumi, the Prime Minister is. Neither country is a Monarchy, they are both Socialist Democracies.
Are YOU learning anything yet??
- 2 votes
yep, and all those European idiots who thought WOMEN could run the place right? Yeah, cuz only WHITE MEN. can be prime ministers.... oh whoops, did I give your argument a kick in the teeth?
and denny, whatever country you're from, don't EVEN try to tell me that it's better there because there's no racism. Phhhhtttt.
As white as I am, after reading this story there is only one meaning that I got out of it.Its simply that whites cant stand other races being above them. That means we are RACISTS period. All the years in this country's history there never was racial incidents of racism after the elections. Why? Simply because Old white men have been elected all the time. Not that all whites are racist, but the large number is. I know people of my color might not like this, but its simply true. Look what happend to the native Americans, we nearly killed all of them in a land of their own because we could not stand any other race except ours. We think only whites have a right to live in this country and rule it. Brains or no brains we just want to be governed by a white man no matter how stupid and old he is. As long as it is white, we want it. Its so sad that we dont seem to move from the old days hate and racism. The biggest problem is with us hite males. Its like black successeful males challenge your malehood. Its good when they are intertaining you with music, football, and basketball, but out of the field you hate them. Come football season you cant move from your TV screens, chunting all songs of victories brought by the majority blacks in sports. You ipods are full of music ang by them, but you still cant stand them. In good jobs, you feel they are not good enough. You dont think playing sports need brains too. You are such a shame!!!!!Thats a huge shame to see that racism brought down to our kids. Just keep it to your houses not in our school buses or society.

It is a simple matter of scientific fact that the oldest signs of humans in north america are the bones of non-indians. Believe it or not.
Sydney
I agree with you 100%. AS for Donald's response to your comment, I am not sure what that has to do with anything.
Racist is one thing Racialist is different. one is hating others who are not like you are and the other is just being proud of who you are. do you think you can understand that? say whatever you want.
- 1 vote
You are WRONG that the oldest human bones found in North America are not Indian. The oldest ones found are called the "Arlington Springs Woman" (carbon dated at 30,000 years), which are the female bones of an Clovis Paleo-Indian person, which is the ancestor of the Native Americans.
I wish you people would educate yourselves before making comments. I mean really, seriously.
- 2 votes
Thank you Lucene, I was about to make the same comment, and let me add that native Americans have been found to be descended from ancient nomadic asian groups. NOT WHITES!!!!
And if Donald was talking (somehow) about the Norwegian or Viking groups, they weren't here before the nomadic Indian groups. Sorry, they only came after and they learned to trade with the native Americans. Not only that, Eric the Red went to CANADIAN territory, NOT U.S. Territory to establish a colony.
well if we want to be technical about it, asians descended from nomadic anglo-saxons, and whites descended from nomadic indigenous Africans. Thus we are all brothers and sisters :)
- 2 votes
I believe Donald is referring to Kenniwick man, a 9000 year old skelton that appeared to have caucasian features. Although it opened up a lot of speculation, the find is by no means conclusive and was never studied properly due to religious problms with the Native Americans insisting they were the remains of their ancestors. It is a case of religion hindering science, but not an arguement for caucasians being in America before Native Americans...just a tantalizing possiblilty that they were not the ONLY ones here in prehistoric times.
if the kenniwick man is 9000 years old and the arlington springs woman is 30,000 years old, that doesn't support donald's argument.
- 1 vote
No. I wasn't supporting it, just clarifying a bit. And Arlington Springs Woman is 13,000 years old, not 30,000.
the liberal media has been strangely silent about homo-fascists attacking Prop 8 supporters and the recent incident in Lansing MI in which they interrupted a church service in a very aggressive manner. how would they feel if Christians stormed a gay support group yelling, threatening, handing out pamphlets??? I'll bet that would get national headlines.
- 1 vote
I see my post has been deleted. Maybe there is was too much truth for it. And I do live in a community where the black population have yelled threats and chants pointed out that "payback" is coming. Because you read a dozen papers a day and never read any of these articles just proves the point how liberal and slanted the media is.
If the whites, once they are the minority near 2012, created an NAAWP and had all white schools and all white beauty pagents and filled positions they were not qualified for to meet quotas how would the blacks respond then? Blacks are just as racist, if not more.
- 7 votes
Umm...ask a question that makes sense and I will answer it. I am not even sure what that question is getting at since nowhere have I implied that I believe "white" is a country.
- 2 votes
"If the whites... had all white schools and all white beauty pagents and filled positions they were not qualified for to meet quotas how would the blacks respond..."
IDIOT!!! That was the norm until Blacks started recognizing themselves and finding their own ways to get their fair share in this world!!
- 10 votes
you some of what you say i agree with. Blacks are about equality, YET they have seperation of everything.
If there were to be a white college fund, a white miss universe, a white miss america or any of that other stuff. It would not be allowed. WHY since we are supposed to all be equal is it allowed now?
- 5 votes
I know that. But whites were MAJORITY. My point is, that when they are NO LONGER MAJORITY, will it then be acceptable for them to create programs that will only benefit them?
Jobs were filled by whites to meet quotas? When did that take place again? And will it ever take place when they are no longer the majority?
- 4 votes
Why don't you learn some black history before you go ranting about a white beauty pagent. Do you not realize that blacks were not allowed to be in pagents not to mention eating in restaurants or using a public toilet. I am so sick of people like you belly aching about blacks finally getting somewhere. You probably did not like civil rights in the 60's.
- 4 votes
AGAIN...read and understand.....it was wrong what happened. What I am asking is, if once the "whites" become the minority, will it be acceptable to implement the same programs etc. as the "blacks" had/have?
Again...I am not white. I don't think this country was stolen from anyone. People voted....although some were uninformed and in some cases uneducated with no understanding of WHY they were voting. A choice was made. What I am sick of hearing is that now that a black president has been elected, the "blacks" now get to dish out payback. And I live in an area where these things are happening and it is NOT being reported. Elementary school children chanting on buses "Obama! Obama!" "Payback! Payback!". And blacks can't teach their young children to hate and resent? Gve me a break......
- 3 votes
No parent, black or white or green have the right to teach their children to hate other races.
- 3 votes
The other side thinks the press is conservative. It certainly played McCain's hate ads for free over and over again. But with strong views, each side notes the bias of the press as being against them and pro the other side.
- 1 vote
whites had no reason to creat a naawp. so your point is pointless. the black organizations we have today were all created because there was a need. when have white people in this country ever need organizations to protect themselves from other races. the whole concept is a joke.
- 1 vote
m1148 - You are missing the point, big time. "When the whites become the minority will it be acceptable to implement the same programs etc as the 'blacks' had/have......"
Whatever programs you are referring to, were implemented, NOT because blacks were in the minority, but because they have a history of being oppressed......badly oppressed. Sorry, but whites do not have the same history. In fact, they were the oppressors.
I'm black, and if blacks in your area are yelling "payback", that is very wrong. That is not President-Elect Obama's agenda. In fact, we respect his shadow, because he is big enough to reach out to people like John McCain and Hilary Clinton, who did nothing but trash him during the campaign. So don't judge him, nor the rest of us, by a few misguided souls.

You people want to talk about race? Then here is some real harsh truth for you. NOT ALL, SO CALLED "WHITE" PEOPLE ARE OF THE SAME RACE. There are Irish, German, Polish, Russian, English, French, and many more. But all black people think that they are the same race. They are Not ! The Darfurians are different from the other tribe that they are killing and being killed by. The DNA is different. And there are some races that are so primative that they are protected from modern outside influances to allow for the natural progression of this people to take place. (in south america). Due to the inter breeding of the different people there are less antibiotics that will work against more and more infections and bacteria that are gaining imunity from the more frequent uses of the same antibiotics. And here are some real hard to face facts. If the quality of the education don't improve in this country, we won't have the scientists and Doctors when we need them most, to deal with the most lethal of viruses and diseases. You all need to put this predjudice behind you and ignore the differences and begin to work together to solve these serious problems. can you understand this?
- 2 votes
Donald, want to talk about race? It doesn't actually exist. Race is a myth. There is no biological definition of race. It is merely a cultural concept. There is only one race-human- and our exterior colors are recent adaptions of evolution. White skin is good for cold climates, so we can synthesize vitamin D more efficiently while covered in clothing. Dark skin is better for sunny, hot climates, so we don't get skin cancer. Neanderthals were cold adapted, and probably light skinned. So all these people are expending all this energy on an imaginary concept. It's like arguing over religion! *wink*
- 3 votes
Then DNA is a myth too? (don't wink at me ). some people will kill you over religion.and think that they will get 72 virgins for suicide.
- 1 vote
Again Donald, you are ignorant. When the human genome was extracted from DNA it showed that we are ALL homo sapiens and there are no seperate "breeds" or "races". We are all of the Genus Homo and there are no other species other than Sapien still existing on Earth. Some experts say that at one time there were 23 different species of Homo, but they have all become extinct but for Sapiens.
So really, all this "racism" garbage really is total garbage. There is no difference in all of us except for genetic trends.
- 2 votes
m11whatever: you really think there ARE no all white male groups in the U.S.? Where have YOU been hiding? The masonic groups are EXACTLY that, as are numerous GOLFING and COUNTRY clubs, not to mention smoking rooms and on and on. Boards are only just now allowing SOME women on them and that's if the women behave as men,
Last I looked there wasn't a SINGLE wall street executive who was BLACK, and WHITES brought it all down!
You're so angry that Blacks actually got together and realized that coalitions would help put more kids in colllege? Are you saying the NAACP is RACIST because they want their kids to get an education? WOW. and YES there are a TON of groups who will put ONLY white MALES in school, I recall an article about a female student at an "all-male" cadet college that took federal funding winning her case against the school for discrimination.
GEEZ, you've GOT to be kidding me...
DNA dear Donald, has proven that humans are SO related (yes in that sense we are ALL descended from Adam and Eve and there's been centuries of inbreeding with all our distant brothers and sisters who went forth and covered the land) that one can NOT distinguish one race from another based on the DNA. DNA does NOT distinguish skin color, or hair color, or eye color, it distinguishes that we each (if all goes right) have 2 legs, 2 arms, a liver, a heart, lungs, etc. as opposed to four legs, a tail, and a body covered with fur, or even fins and a flipper or two. It also distinguishes that we don't have leaves and an outer bark covering.
- 1 vote
The DNA is different
Then DNA is a myth too?
Geez, Donald, where are you getting your info from? Geneticists have long since said race was a social construct and nothing more.
We share 95% of our DNA with chimps, and 97% of our DNA with other humans. That leaves only 3% of our massive genome to distinguish identity.
We all have the same number of melanocytes, different skin color has to do with the rate that melanin is transferred to the skin. Finding the one gene out of thousands, that is responsible for that mechanism is negligible when it comes to science.
Echoe.....pull your head out of your a**....THERE ARE ALL BLACK MASONIC GROUPS. There is one here where I live. So blacks will hold on to being repressed forever, I suppose. Well, obviously and according to many blacks, the white man's turn is coming and then they can do all the same things.

m1148
if it is that bad, really really really that bad. Maybe you should move. There are plenty of places in america you can go with out hiding in fear of the black man.
Oh...I am not afraid. Never said I was. Just pointing out that the Obama victory sparked violence on the side, too. Seriously, the media only reporting one side is getting old. I love where I live. And as far as race is concerned, as you long as you aren't an ingnorant jack-ass who acts like a 10 year old rather than a responsible voting adult, I have no problem no matter your color.
- 1 vote
m1148,
could you give me a source of the sparked violence? I'd love to read up on it.
I just said it WAS NOT reported, proving the media is slanted. It was at my childrens' school and no, there is nothing you can read. You must be one of those, "if I can't see it, it doesn't exist" people.
Oh, and the "source" of the sparked violence is the parents of the children feeding their children garbage and hatred. Just like other people in these posts have pointed out, parents teach the kids their behavior.
- 1 vote
I don't believe in the conspiracy of media slants. The media is owned by rich conglomerates that cater only to their ratings and advertisers. The more people tune in, the more they play a particular news reel. If their was blatant racism out there, black or white, they would report it because racism of any kind is ratings gold.
As far You must be one of those, "if I can't see it, it doesn't exist" people.
You are right about that one. I am a skeptic, of everything. If there isn't verifiable evidence I don't believe it can be quoted as fact.
I say, if it's really so blatant in your community, why don't you own camera and put it on youtube? I'll believe you when I see it, and who knows, you might be one of those guys that make it on 'caught on camera'.
Wow...you actually admitted to your idiocy. Nice. I respect you for that. Naive , too. To think that every little racial incident in every little town would be reportred, let alone for the country to see, is ridiculous. And to believe that the media did not favor Obama during the whole campaign is stupidity at it's finest. The media is liberal. It's obvious. Pick up a brain at the five and dime.
- 1 vote
Why do people sling personal attacks at one another? I believe you both have valid points, but the exchange got lost in the insults.
tough2name - people result to personal attacks when they don't have a factual basis to support their position. I'm not in high school anymore, its pointless for me to call names to a computer screen.
But I'm not one to rain on someone's parade, if it makes m1148 day to call me an idiot, i'm happy to oblige ;P
Who knows, this may be all the joy he/she's got in the world. I'd be cruel to take that away. :D
M11, you are a silly person. The black college fund was started to help black students in poor area's who couldn't afford college. Now ask yourself how many scholarships are given to white kids every year? And you're complaining about one? And then you have the audicity to say that blacks are as racist as whites, and that whites are the minority? If you truely believe that, you are a sad sad idiot. I hate to sound redundant, but do some research before you talk. You won't sound so dumb
racism is not color blind. there is an equal amount on both sides. of course the liberal press very seldom reports racism on the black side. after jan.20, racism will rear its ugly head in the big cities populated by blacks and the liberal press will have to report it.

Racist fool. Yeah... black man's goan git us. Sure. You racists have been saying that since I was in high school in the 1980s. Give it up. It's got as much likelihood of happening as the South Rising Again.
- 4 votes
I understand why blacks would be racists against whites; especially the older ones living in the South.
But I don't understand why whites are racists against blacks...there's really no logic to their position..

It's ignorant fear. Fear and mistrust based on a difference. It really doesn't matter the color of skin. It can be ANYTHING - a group of people who all decide to wear the same hairdo would create fear in some. Unfortunately, it's that simple. And with whites fearing blacks, it's the fear of retribution as well. (Will they take action against us because of what my ancestors did to their ancestors?)
Any action against any man for no reason is a misguided action.
Respect, we need to follow Obama's lead.
god forbid we have a leader who inspires and makes us ALL be accountable for our actions. feeling patriotic for the first time in a LONG time. fear and ignorance breed a world i don't want to be a part of.
great comments:
Malicious attacks and malicious behavior need to be dealt with in a rapid, legal manner to curb additional actions and it needs to be done at the local level. Broadcasting these ideas and actions to a broad audience, as this news media and others in our nation do, just plants those thoughts and actions in other idle minded folk and have a tendency to create more of the same. The author of this article needs to consider more carefully what he/she broadcasts to the universe, unless these same feelings are secretly cultivated in his/her own heart and is using this media to promote it.

This goes to show you how the some of the caucasain race is very ignorant. What will they loose by an African American becoming President? What do they fear? First and foremost, this is not their country if it was built on American Indian and African American boldshed. The whites has to realise that they will be the minority in a few years. Change is coming in all kinds of form, and we as Americans have to accept everything that is happening. We as a people cannot evolve if you the old mind-set and ways are still in play. It is what it is!!!!! Wake up!!!!
Such ignorance is amazing. When these people talk about people going back to where they came from, they're too stupid to realize that that includes them too!! They are "outsiders" in this country because if they're not Native Americans then they should also go back to where they came from be it Europe or some other country if they want this country to be "pure". Stupidity abounds and we have elementary stupid people coming on the scene to perpetuate this ignorance!!!!

I agree with you too!
I also had the idea that the next time the Red States want to withdraw from the Union, they should be allowed to. They cost more to maintain than they're worth.

It was Obama who broke a written agreement to only use public funding for the general election. it was not his color but the lies and deciete. he said that he is being honest while he was being dishonest. and who do you see standing next to him? Bill Clinton who was impeached for purjury to a Grand jury and obstruction of justice and Hillary clinton, Joe Biden, Colin Powell and many others who Publicly stated the fact that, "Barack Obama is not qualified to be president". There were so many first time voters who did vote for him because he is black and this is racism. if not, why didn't they ever vote before when they are mostly in their 30s?
- 2 votes
Hey Donald
I get what you're saying this time but see what you should look at is why has there never been a president of non-white descent? Whites did the same damn thing over many many years. I remember when Jesse Jackson ran for the presidency back in the eighties. Whites went crazy in my neighborhood saying they need to get their guns ready. What kind of crap is that? Whites voted white. Big deal it happens and will continue to happen on both sides. Is it stupid? Very much so but it is expected. Blacks followed an example. Thank the white man for setting that example.
Jessie Jackson is not a good example.(black panther milita) Lies are lies and no one can change it. "white" is a generalized term and there are no ligitimate reasons to use it. There have been minority presidents before. Irish was a minority. Corruption is corruption sooner or later even the blacks will hate it too. no matter what the skin color of the criminal.
Donald, let me also clarify to what happened with the election funds. First, Obama did not agree to use public funding, he said he would be willing to sit down and disguss it with his adversary. That meeting never took place. Then McCain took public funding, but in a "reach around" he took out a loan on the public funding, using it as collateral. Therefor, he doubled his money. He also had free access to all the RNC's money, because of the way he wrote the bill. The DNC didn't remotely have the funds that the RNC had, because BIG Business traditionally gives great sums of money to the RNC. Obama decided to not take public funding, because he was put at a disadvantage by what McCain had done. Obama took a great risk doing this, what if no one had donated to him? But millions and millions of people did, 15$ or 25$ at a time. Thus, Obama had huge sums in his coffers, and McCain, who thought he was being clever, actually short-changed himself by trying to be tricky.
- 3 votes
I'll give you all that you say about Obama (though I don't agree with some of it), then still tell me exactly what he's accomplished that gives you such confidence in him? Also, what is it that he's going to do that you are for? All the superficial things about Obama that you mentioned will not accomplish anything. He can be all those things, and if his policies are wrong, the country will suffer for it. That's why I opposed him and will continue to do so. He's wrong in the direction that he wants to take this country. Race never enters into it.
I have heard from friends that work in offices with hispanics and blacks that after election day...they all chanted that they had arrived. We are all Americans but with that being thrown in people's faces breeds racial bias. I was not going to vote for Obama because I a a Hillary supporter but decided to after that VP candidate pick by McCain. Now, I am proud of our country and am glad that I voted for him. Could someone please explain to me the experience that George W had? Look where that has gotten us! Wow, Sarkozy was classic in his statement to Putin. It is time for all of us to rise above this and make this country one that is admired again! katec
I voted for McCain because my other to candidates dropped out a long time ago. Ron Paul and Hillary Clinton. I didn't like either of my choices but as one Reverend put it on MSN not too long ago, Obama is the most aggressive supporter of abortion, both live and partial. That's icky.
anyways.. I'm not racist and the reason for voting McCain had nothing to do with racism. I have never heard of what the platform of beliefs Obama had. I still don't know what he is about. He's never said in anything I have read. However, he is cryptic. At least we know we are going to be having alliances again with Cuba, Russia, N.Korea and Iran. Countries that have always loved us. lol.
I fear that nothing will ever heal this nation as it is blinded by ignorance and hatred. I fear that a good family will be destroyed in the next four years as a result of this maddnes. Gun sales have sky rocketed since the election more then likely by white American who have a race hate mindset. What will ultimately happen is simple, if anything happen to Obama and his family America will erupt in flames. We should be trying to pull together, but it seems there are those who would prefer four more years of Bush because he is white, rather then a man of color who is trying to reach out and unify the nation. How sick can bigtry and racist thinker be? Only God knows.
- 9 votes
Gary, it is a sad thing. You are right if any thing happens to Obama, the country will go down in flames and will never be the same. With all of America's other issues, I don't think this country will survive something like that. No matter what, the racist will never get what they want because a repub will not be in the white house even if the worse happens. Everybody had better pray for the safety of themselves and their children that all will remain calm.
- 4 votes
We're just going through growing pains.
Every time blacks have integrated into sports, schools, the military, etc... there was always racists there trying to hold them back.
But they intergrated and the country became a better place.
To the credit of the FBI and Secret Service: they seem to be ahead of the game.
I hope the start charging people even for the most minor aggressions. Racists are cowards. They only act when in crowds and when they think that they can get away with it.
- 8 votes
Don't be fooled by the liberal media. again. The gun sales are up because of the need for defense of home and family. There are too many Illegal aliens here and the democrats have a history of criminal negligence. would you just sit back while your family is threatened? Watch TV and see who is doing the most crimes of violense. It is politically incorrect to say it even on TV.
- 2 votes
Donald, you're an idiot. it is PROVEN that most crimes in the U.S. are committed by whites. AND that the most HEINOUS and VIOLENT crimes are committed by whites. an overwhelming majority of pedophiles and serial killers are WHITE. those families who kill their kids are OVERWHELMINGLY WHITE. Most robberies and rapes are committed by WHITES and most murders are committed by WHITES. (I worked in domestic violence court. Not ONE black woman or family ever walked through the doors in 2 years, and we had a LOT of cases.)
and that leads us to another discrimination perpetrated in the U.S. whie most white male first time offenders are let off, most BLACK first time offenders suffer VERY harsh prison time and fines for the same crime.
So if you're worried about someone breaking into your house.. yeah, the black guy was put in prison, it's the WHITE guy who was let off that you have to worry about.
- 3 votes
Also to add:
Statistically, most crimes are done to people by someone they know.
What is it like 75-85% or something like that? So while these people are stocking up on guns, they are just increasing their chances of of being attacked or attacking someone of their own neighborhood!
- 2 votes
The majority of violent crimes are done by family members to other family members.
- 2 votes
Which is exactly why I am so afraid of all of these ppl getting guns.......
There extreme race hate will most likely be turned inwardly......
A sad state of affairs.
