This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

“Americans have very high expectations for President-elect Obama, and it’s our job to hold him accountable on his promises,” said Amber Wilkerson, a Republican National Committee spokeswoman."

Hey lady!  When are you going to start holding Bush accountable.  Obama hasn't started the job yet.   These republicans will never change.

Laughing at everything you post is creepy.  If you actually said something ironic or funny, maybe, but as it is, embarrassing for you.  And your hate is almost acrid.

Hey you ... the guy behind the curtain ... why do you see this as "hard left BS"?  They gave coverage to the RNC, if they were so left leaning they would have ignored these pointless statements by the Really Nasty Crew.  You are not making sense Mr. GO.

I think we definitely need to consider the viewpoints of the Republican party as part of the political process, and I hope Obama leads in as much of a bipartisan way as is practical, but as far as bluster from the RNC ... they are Really Not Credible any more ... nobody cares.  For the RNC to criticize the appointments that Obama is making is a hoot.  The party that gave us Scooter Libby, Tom DeLay, Jack Abramoff, Bob Ney, Larry Craig, Mark Foley and Ted Stevens, not to mention George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donnie Rumsfeld, Alberto Gonzalez and Sarah Palin ... give me a break!

The Republicans should be trying to reorganize and uplift their own Party instead of tearing down every move Obama makes. They need to take a long look at what awful, childish, petty, ugly people they have become both as a Party and as individuals. There is not a SINGLE person in the Bush Admin today who could equal the brains of just one of Obama's appointments let alone the whole group. The Republicans lost power because they became obsessed with wealth and lost touch with ordinary Americans. Then htey got really ugly and  refused repeatedly to listen to the American people. They truly are,at this time, irrelevant and they need to face up to that fact and move on with some dignity. There are some decent Republicans and they can still make contributions in Congress but not the way they are going. They can continue their ugly harping and self distruct again in 2010. The sooner the better as far as I am concerned.

Attention RNC ... ignore Suval ... continue to use Karl Rove tactics.  They worked great in 2000 and 2004, it was just a minor hiccup in 2008 ... it will work again.  Really, it will, trust me.

It's funny that the RNC is demanding that Obama stay in the center, "as America wants," yet the conclusion they draw from their recent defeat is that they didn't go far enough right.  Republicans need to do some serious introspection about their own standards and quit worrying about the winning team.  Republicans are trying to capture that 10% of the far right vote and sacrificing the 30% in the middle.  The middle group aren't "centrists."  They're moderates who don't care about ideology, they just want to wake up in the morning and have a job to and they don't care what someone else is doing in their own bedroom.

The GOP can yell all they want about promises because they broke as many of them and while filling their pockets and the democrats.  All the 535 in Washington DC are responsible for the mess this country is in.  There are some like Dodd, Frank and those that pushed for loans to have nots that are more responsible but refuse to acknowledge this bad calls.  There is another point that is still outstanding and that is for the American people to see the birth certificate of Obama.  The judge that dismissed the law suit ordering this document to be published clearly showed that it is them verus us; the people of the United States of America.  Mr. Obama where is your birth certificate?  As for the GOPers that, like the democrates speak out of all six pairs of their lips, we are destined to live with a bunch of self centered power and money grabbing politicos.

The RNC had the last 8 years to voice their opinions.  President-elect Obama has accomplished a great deal in less than 30 days.  It's 'too little...too late' for the RNC.  Finally, they're wondering why they lost the election?  Their negativity throughout the last 8 years and continuing on today is indicative of their mindset.  Of course, they'd object to anyone appointed by Obama.  All positive suggestions for the good of our country are welcome.

In a Democracy, or Republic, the party(s) which are not in power form the opposition and are expected to exercise critique on the governing party. Only in totalitarian states such as communism, socialism, dictatorships  opposition voices are silenced, not permitted to be heard under penalty of law. Respectfully, SD

I am confused and disappointed.  Barack said no lobbyists.  Why has be gone back on that and putting lobbyists in his cabinet?  I was beginning to feel good about him, but it's appearing as though the change he talked about so very much isn't really materializing.  It seems just like the same old common garden variety we have mostly experienced from past Presidents.  I had high hopes, now I don't feel so good about this anymore. There just doesn't seem anything really new here.  Maybe, my expectations were too high.

I don't think there is any President than can fix this horrific economy in four years.  And, if Barack can't, everyone will blame him, even many of his supporters probably will start trashing him.   People turn quickly on their Presidents when they believe they don't deliver.  I sure wouldn't want to be in his shoes.

And we need the most qualified people to get us out of the horrific mess the Republicans and the Bush administration put us in!!

The RNC would be wise to support the new administration~ All of us need to work together to get us out of this Mess! Obama seeks constructive input from the people, and is dedicated to serving the people of the United States of America and not the special interests of corporate America when those interests are not in the best interest of the people or our country.  We need to stay focused on resolving issues You Republicans created!

Hey Ozark - Have you even listened to AM talk radio?   What I find most amazing is the criticism of anybody who questions Obama.  Rush (which is the radio host you are obviously referring to) very rarely says anything that is hateful.  In fact, most of the time he just talks about hateful things dems say.  Oh, and by the way, he plays the audio of the dems statements and posts his sources on his website.  He has nothing to hide.  Why don't you take one hour out of your life and listen before you criticize him?  You claim to be a Christian, yet you voted for a man who didn't see anything wrong with living babies not getting medical attention to keep them alive (For those who can't figure it out, a failed abortion is the same as a living baby).  That is the same as murder under any definition.

Hey rarddogg - Sorry, I must have misunderstood.  You mean the same war that dems voted for?  No, its not illegal and no, its not murder.  We have a volunteer military fighting others who volunteered to fight.  Nope, not even close to baby murder.

I think that all Americans should know that it was the Clinton Administration who thought they were smarter than FDR and deregulated all the financial mkts.
Obama has chosen Robert Rubin as an Economic aide and he was not only a part of the Clinton admin but THE driving force behind the near Collapse of CitiGroup where he still draws millions a year.
How could Obama consider him the Best??

You really need to do your homework and stop parroting.  Reagan was the king of deregulation, it was almost his holy grail.  Check it out.

Whether you like it or not, Clinton was a very good President.  His post-term assessments are extremely high even among conservative scholars.  Only hypocrites who had no business involving themselves in a personal matter between a husband and wife or insecure people who were intimidated by his intelligence and charisma continue to smear his Presidency.

You do understand of course that the deregulation bill was a Republican product

"The bills were introduced in the U.S. Senate by Phil Gramm (R-Texas) and in the U.S. House of Representatives by Jim Leach (R-Iowa). The third lawmaker associated with the bill was Rep. Thomas J. Bliley, Jr. (R-Va), Chairman of the House Commerce Committee from 1995 to 2001. [2] On May 6, 1999, the Senate passed the bills by a 54-44 vote along party lines (53 Republicans and one Democrat in favor; 44 Democrats opposed).[3] On July 20, the House passed a different version of the bill on an uncontested and uncounted voice vote. When the two chambers could not agree on a joint version of the bill, the House voted on July 30 by a vote of 241-132 (R 58-131; D 182-1) to instruct its negotiators to work for a law that ensured that consumers enjoyed medical and financial privacy and also "robust competition and equal and non-discriminatory access to financial services and economic opportunities in their communities" (i.e. protection against exclusionary redlining) [4] [5] The bill then moved to a conference committee to work out the differences between the Senate and House versions. Democrats agreed to support the bill after Republicans agreed to strengthen provisions of the anti-redlining Community Reinvestment Act and address certain privacy concerns; the conference committee then finished its work by the beginning of November.[4] [6] On November 4, the final bill resolving the differences was passed by the Senate 90-8 [7] and by the House 362-57.[8] This legislation was signed into law by Democratic President Bill Clinton on November 12, 1999.[9]"

First, Obama would never jump of the bridge, he'd see that it was in good working order.  Second, you present yourself as the zealous followers of the far right.  Third, liberal isn't a dirty word, the founders of our republic were the first US liberals.

I don't believe there has ever been a President who hasn't been guilty of making some bad selections in whom they pick.  Barack is just human like anyone else, he isn't God, he will probaby regret some of his selections as all Presidents have.  You cannot know about a person or persons until you actually see them performing in their duties.  There will be mistakes because no human being can attain perfection.  We will just have to have hope that these mistakes will not really cause us any real damage.  America has too much at stake to mess up.  This Presidency will either make or break us because of the insurmountable problems we face.  I'm hoping for the  very best scenerio as all the rest of our people are.

The Republican National Committee, and Republicans in general by the looks of the posts on the Net, are showing just how spiteful and moronic they truly are. They don't give a plug-nickle about America or her future. They only care about themselves and their possessions and their bibles. They are "right-fighters" even when fighting for what they know is the wrong cause. They come from the same breed that started and perpetuated and still refuse to acknowledge that they lost the Civil War. They are blinded by their own greed and selfishness and have the audacity to claim that they alone speak for God.

If they don't want to believe in America as a united people and it is another Civil War they want, then they may just get one right on their own doorsteps if they keep up the anti-American rhetoric that so easily spews from their mouths.

It is amazing that adults with their plastic hair and expensive suits never mentally evolved past the age of fourteen and continue to make the same fools of themselves that George W. Bush made of us all.

Maybe all of you right-wing Repugs should move on up to Alaska with your queen Sarah Palin. It would be a perfect fit for you.

Ron, you are making yourself appear very shallow.  Just as dems have had good and bad presidents and leaders at all levels of the government, so do Republicans.  We have not had too many real conservatives to vote for.  If you really study the conservative principals, you'd probably agree with most of what you learned.  Don't be close-minded to another conservative.  Just as I need to give Obama a chance (which admittedly I am struggling with), you will need to someday give a Republican a chance.

We all need to figure out a way to come together and support what is good and question what is bad regardless of which party is in charge a the time.  I can personally guarantee you MILLIONS of Republicans questioned Bush.  Don't follow blindly behind anybody but also be willing to give people you may not totally agree with a chance.

My "kind of mentality" is exactly what this country needs in order to succeed. It is the kind of mentality that will never again allow an election to be stolen, our country to go to war based on lies, the needless deaths of over four thousand American soldiers, the suppression of the middle-class, and an economy brought to the brink of collapse. It is the kind of mentality that will never again allow fools and ideologues to bring about all of the above.

I hope all of you Repugs sleep well at night.

You pretend to carry on civil discourse without resorting to hate-mongering, but you just can't help slipping in the name-calling and snide comments.  You aren't, by chance, a libertarian?

TO THE HANDFUL OF REPUBLICANS AT THE GOP HQ STILL CRITICIZING OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS.

You folks seem to be the last in the country to realize some things that the rest of us already know, so I'm gonna try and "bring you up to speed" one more time.

First, you guys controlled the white house for 8 years and the congress for 6 years.  In short, YOU BLEW your FIRST chance to improve things in America!

Second, when the American people sent you a "heads up" by voting more Democrats into congress in 2006, you BLEW your SECOND chance to improve things.  Instead of working with the Democrats, you became the most obstructionist regime in American history.

NOW, if you STILL don't get it, then I suggest you retire from politics because you're clearly out of touch with the rest of Americans!

Of course, you can "stay the course" and continue to act stupidly by blindly attacking the Democrats instead of working with them to help solve the messes the Republican party created, and you'll find out in the NEXT election that the GOP will lose even more seats in congress.

O please I am pointing the finger the other way there is plenty of blame to go around . Valerie Plame was not active but you know it doesn't mater to print the whole truths. I never once on any of these sites said that I agreed with pres bush 100% of the time. I am not against the Democratic Party as a whole.  I am amazed by the hypocrisy.

I have also said CLREARLY that I want the new pres Obama to do a great job.

Ok, and the news here is what? RNC is a political organization. The GOP congressionals have a job to do and they are approaching it in an appropriate tone for elected representatives, as the article mentioned either polite wait and see or acknowledging that the voters have spoken. Who would expect the RNC to be anything but spiteful or divisive? Their job is to look for a strategy to get the GOP back into prominence.  They don't care about the crumbling economy, ballooning unemployment, quagmire in Afghanistan and Iraq, they have midterm elections to think about. During the campaign the strategy was to attack Obama as green and unqualified. That didn't work, so now the sour grapes are that his picks are actually experienced and qualified people. If he had gone the route of GWB and brought in his version of the "Texas Mafia," the criticism would have continued to be that Obama doesn't have the savvy to make it in Washington. RNC is doing their job, looking for traction in the wake of a humiliating loss, slinging all possible mud and hoping something will stick.  Most of the country is so tired of them that this task is daunting at best.

Are these more of your reasonable facts?  US Grant and Dwight Eisenhower had no political experience.  James Garfield, Harding, Harrison (both), Hoover, Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln all had less experience than PE Obama.  Looks like you failed again.

If you look back at my posts I have said very possitivly that I want my new president to do a great job. I respect him as my pres. I have only pointed out truths that made me uncomfortable with him. I have not slandered him. I am respecting him. Can you say the same about our sitting president?

You are respecting him?  Now its my turn to use your favorite response...hahahahahah

If that is respect then you need some remedial education.

I voted for Obama because he is intelligent, has the best interests of the Country and its citizens - not just people who agree with him and have ignored the 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th Amendments, his commitment to return our Constitutional rights, he is committed to have the BEST people to advise him, his health care, tax relief, defense - like providing the same level of benefits for reservists and National Guard, to put more effort into the war in Afghanistan, having Iraq pay for their own war, and his energy proposals.  Also his desire for work with our allies  and have them more responsible for international security, and his plan to renew a positive dialog with other world leaders.

"I know we will say nice things about the president and his family who took ill..... Please my little lemmings.."  Right, boo, this is respectful.

I haven't slander the sitting President, everything I have said is factual and he has damaged his own reputation.

It doesn't matter why you have to laugh most of the time, its just creepy that you feel the need.

Thought there were supposed to be no bashing on these boards.  If anything, I'd rather see both parties work together, but that seem to be a dirty word these days.  Instead they're always finding faults and arguing back and forth, both parties would accomplish more if they only knew how to work together.  The only time they work together is in times of natural disaster, like after 9/11, Katrina and the financial problems.  Why does it take a natural disaster to bring both parties together?

It is not entirely surprising, of course, that a party organization would remain in feisty campaign mode even after the election
