People have torn into Pres. Bush for 8 plus years.  It was ok, cause he wasn't smart, stole the election, did drugs, dodged the war..ect.  They blamed him for almost everything, and tore into his choices for his cabinet before he got into office.  Why is this different?

cham, for me its because they aren't tearing in PE Obama for his choices experience and qualifications, but because they need to find something they can attack with any substance.  Since these appointments aren't inexperienced and know government some people are calling Obama a hypocrite.  He stated there is a need for change, etc., he didn't say he would jeopardize the future of the country just to make changes for change sake.  He meant we need a change of the policies and people who would insist on continuing 'as usual'.

The RNC cared not one bit about the citizens of OUR country the past two terms! And they care even less now, the people let their views be known and Obama answered our call. So get used to it RNC, your a group of has beens, your policies broke OUR country, put us in a never ending war, put our people in food  lines, gasoline lines, on welfare and as I see everyday peoples belongings piled on the street corners where they have been put out of their homes! RNC GET A LIFE, at least let someone who cares try to repair YOUR MESS! Marky

These people just don't get it! The Supreme Court gave the 2000 election to george W., and Ohio Secretary of State, Ken Blackwell stole the 2004 Ohio election for Mr. Bush. The RNC said some of the same things about Bill Clinton, when he was legitimately elected, and we enjoyed some of the most prosperous times ever during his presidency! Historians will likely place an asterisk by George W. Bush's name, saying that he was not legitimately elected. The present situation is largely a crisis of confidence, and Mr. Obama seems to exude confidence, unlike George W.!!

The latest actions of the Republican Party shows a lack of class. Reminds me of "sore losers"! As such, they lack the class necessary to bow out as losers.....plain and simple! I am pretty old....the last decent Republican was Ike....a long time ago. Two other decent Presidents were JFK and Clinton. It's been a long lifetime for me and I did NOT see much positive growth for the nation. It's also funny that since Bush is leaving office, the gas prices are coming down. I'd love to see an expose on that! Who were those oil speculators? Bush's friends???? Regarding Obama...give the man a chance....America should have the class to follow that advice. Democrats or Republicans should have class and not act like kids in a sand box.

The NRC should consider a name change.  Perhaps that would help take some of the sting out of the loss and help people forget how badly they have managed the country for the past eight years.

I would suggest the party name be a true reflection of the party leadership and direction.  Therefore, rather than be called the "Republican" party, a better name would be the "Limbaugh"  party.   That should help all of the current sore losers come to grips.

What Do Barack Obama Voters Know?

How Obama Got Elected - If you've spent more than 30 seconds on You Tube you probably noticed that the overwhelming majority of Obama voters, and by overwhelming majority I mean 99%, think that Sarah Palin is a dumb, corrupt, expletive. They rarely say anything thoughtful, but they think Palin is the one who is an idiot. They portray Sarah Palin as a know-nothing without a grasp of basic facts, let alone a deep understanding of complex issues. Now there is a poll that shows how much Obama voters actually know and the results are absolutely shocking.

John Zogby polled 512 Barack Obama voters from 11/13/2008 to 11/15/2008. 55% of the Obama voters polled were college graduates and 80% have attended some college. Zogby asked them 12 multiple choice questions about the candidates. A disturbing 0.5% were able to answer all 12 questions correctly. 0.5%. That means 99.5% of Obama voters have less general knowledge than Sarah Palin which Im sure will make liberals heads explode.

Here are some of the highlights:

          * 57% did NOT know the Democrats control congress, they had a 50/50 chance.

          * 72% did NOT know Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism.

          * 82% did NOT know that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot.

          * 88% did NOT know that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket.

          * 56% did NOT know that Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground.

There is now more proof than ever that journalism is dead in America.

John Zogby said in a statement defending the poll: “We reject the notion that this was a push poll because it very simply wasn't. … In this case, the respondents were given a full range of responses and were not pressured or influenced to respond in one way or another. This poll was not designed to hurt anyone, which is obvious as it was conducted after the election.”

Zogby told Politico in a telephone interview that the volume of reaction was in the top 10 percent he had received to his 24 years of polling.

              As a GOP-er(really more of a Libertarian) on the losing side, I wish only the very best for Obama and the USA and pledeg my full support to him. Having said that;

Let's not become a Communist country that forbids people from expressing their opinions just because we are afraid of offending Obama. I disagree with the tone of these expressions by the RNC BUT I would defend with my life their right of free speech.

Lighten up news media!! I am impressed with the first 3 wks of Barack and think he could do a fabulous job. But it might be nice if the liberal media quits trying to totally suppress dissent & opinion in this country when it is directed at the new party in power who the same media got elected.

Why would you decide that the media that doesn't attack Obama with baseless charges is "liberal media"?  And what in the world does "communist" and "China" have to do with anything?

The article brought to light the fact that the RNC has attacked Obama for every cabinet choice except for the lone Republican choice.  They reported the news.  Are you actually stating that reporting news about the activities of the RNC is "communist" and is like "China"?!!!  Surely you must be aware that the news media is no longer cowed by threats from the Republican party.

After all, this isn't China!!!  ;-)

“Americans have very high expectations for President-elect Obama, and it’s our job to hold him accountable on his promises,” said Amber Wilkerson, a Republican National Committee spokeswoman.

So this is the party preaching accountability now and the one that has its pulse on the heart beat of America?  My reading of events is it's the party of extremists, hijacked by a mob of fanatics of which it will need to purge itself before it ever comes back into the mainstream of American politics.

Christian Reconstructionists make no pretense about subscribing to the pluralistic ideas of   government or even religious tolerance because this would require them to accept a source of ethical standards other than the Bible.  Dominionism accepts wholeheartedly Christian nationalism, maintaining that America was once a Christian nation & rejecting the influence of the Enlightenment upon the founding of our constitutional republic and representative democracy.  These two movements - Reconstructionism and Dominionism - provide the  framework for the Religious Right, Neo-Conservativism and the current Republican Party.

It would serve all Americans well, Christian or otherwise, to educate themselves about these movements.  Two of their primary philosophers are Rousas John Rushdoony and Gary North, among others.  My interpretation of their efforts is that they want nothing less than a return to ancient Rabbinical Law.  They have a long pedigree of denying the Holocaust, defending slavery and segregation & outlawing interracial marriage.  Their list of crimes warranting the death penalty would increase ten-fold.  At the very least, they advocate the subversion of civil, Constitutional and secular law to that of THEIR interpretation of Biblical law.  Many of these proponents of the laity & government's submission to the Old Testament are quite close to Rev. Dobson et al and I have seen them on the 700 Club on television.

This lengthy excursion is made to underscore that the Republican Party forged a very close relationship with these folks in the l980's.  You draw your own conclusions about any dangers or lack thereof of such a relationship.  Following the recent elections, some of their staunchest adherents advocated an even stronger emphasis on ideology.  A voice of moderation, however, came from none other than Cal Thomas who said that if the Republican Party wishes to survive it should emphasize policies based less on ideology and more on what works.

For a Party to have climbed into bed with people who advocate subversion of that Sacred Document called The Constitution and now preach anything to the newly-elected government is nothing less than patronizing hypocrisy.  These folks need to take a very serious look in the mirror.

Our republic, granted, has its imperfections and flaws.  It's frequently ponderous and lends itself to bureaucratic nightmares.  But it has worked remarkably well the past two and one-third centuries.  The ideas embedded in the Constitution are not ideological - they're alive and evolving - and probably one of the only things left in our culture that anchors us to the past, grounds us in the present and charts a course for the future.

Economic structures, day to day functions of government, the family, and the church are all institutions that haven't weathered the storms over the centuries.  Hell, even the good old US Postal Service can be a vehicle for inhaling anthrax up your nose.  But our Constitution survives, intact, untattered.  Before we go altering or abandoning that Sacred Document due to the latest political pet project or shift in finances, we would do well to pause and think deeply.

A "Change" we can see? A "Change" we can believe in?  Well in that respect Obama did not lie. The names on the various doors of the offices will "Change" and we will see that. The policies will "Change" that much should have been obvious from the beginning and only a fool would not have believed that.  So far Obama is off to a real blast of a start and has already kept his promise of a "Change" we can see and believe in. Now the only question is; will this be a "Change" for the better or (if you can believe it is possible), the worse.

QED the next 4 years. For those of us who survive it should be quite interesting indeed.

RichardHatesLeftWingWackos, I guess you didn't get the news. The low IQ bush supporters didn't support Obama. Of course the gop would critize Obama. They have been in power the last 8 years and look at how wonderfull things are. It amazes me that they have the gall, to show their words in public. I guess RichardHatesLeftWingWackos proves our education system is failing.

There is nothing wrong with the RNC fairly, honestly and factually hold PE Obama accountable.  Its when they make false accusations and attack before he has any actual authority to enact the promised change that is questionable in their intent.

But if Mr. McConnell considers this a good start, the memo did not reach the Republican committee headquarters. Here is how the party has characterized various selections made by Mr. Obama:

                  • On Representative Rahm Emanuel as White House chief of staff: “Barack Obama’s first decision as president-elect undermines his promise to ‘heal the divides.’ Rahm Emanuel is a partisan insider who played a lead role in breaking Washington.”
                  • On David Axelrod, Mr. Obama’s campaign strategist, as White House senior adviser: “For a president-elect who promised to change the tone in Washington, it’s disappointing that he is filling his White House with partisan bomb-throwers. When people think of ‘change,’ they don’t think of political consultants like David Axelrod.”

                  • On Tom Daschle, the former Democratic majority leader in the Senate, as secretary of health and human services: “For voters hoping to see new faces and fewer lobbyist-connections in government, Daschle’s nomination will be another disappointment. Obama promised to change America’s health care system, but his nominee to be secretary is no change agent.”

                  • On Eric H. Holder Jr., the former deputy attorney general, as attorney general: “Instead of bringing the bipartisan ‘change’ to Washington that he promised voters, Barack Obama is rewarding yet another one of his political loyalists in Eric Holder. The only person who thinks Eric Holder represents ‘hope’ is Marc Rich,” the convicted financier pardoned by President Bill Clinton with Mr. Holder’s acquiescence.

Wow that is some change.  A slick Chicago politician is now President Elect.  America will soon learn what Chicago politics are really about.  Oh never mind he is already giving jobs to the money men.

'Breaking Washington'?  What do you mean?

Republican Lindsay Graham is an example of how many in Congress understand the Chief of Staff job:  "This is a wise choice by President-elect Obama. He's tough but fair -- honest, direct and candid."

This is just an example of the non-partisan response to Obama's appointments.  Quoting the completely biased and partisan RNC as an independent observer (if that was your intent) isn't credible.

Calling me Liberal is not the insult you intend it to be.  Most of our founders were of liberal thinking and views.  To be included with the same liberal thinkers as Adams and Jefferson is an honor.

Well the RNC now will have to put up with the changes to come for 4 years. Yup some changes might be the big money people will pay more. You will not have JR. to keep the tax low for you. and they did not have Florida , Ohio, and the supreme court to help them this year.

All this from an idiot who did not have time to finish his 6 monts in the service. But made the military his best friend. That was maybe his best decision , seeing how they protect his butt. and ours also

Jr can open his new library on Jan 21,2009 in the local phone booth in Crawford Texas to the sound of a one man band. He has got to be the moron of the century, Can you say No Bid Contracts for 6 years? Now did you get one of the contracts?

Don't get me wrong I am not a democrat . Try independant. And I would not one of them for a family member. They sure know how to lie.

So maybe the time to hope something good will come out of this election is now. And those who hope it doesn't should leave.

Every time a Republican gets into office America is raped economically speaking, it happened when Nixon got in, everyones retirement disappeared, Carter took the heat for it.

It happened when Reagan got in, he gave us Black Monday the day everyones retirement disappeared,  the S&L Crisis and 10% unemployment when he left office.

Bush has headed the biggest trasfer of cash to the wealthy in history, Black Friday, the day everones retirement disappeared again, 28%of Americans below the poverty line and rising.

Why would anyone in their right mind even consider voting for a Republican.

All they have to offer is the negative retoric currently spewing from the RNC and the right wing nuts, it would give more of the same Nixon, Reagan and Bush have already given America, a royal screwing.

Elect a republican and kiss your retirement good by.
